Avalanche Studios Group and its division Avalanche Studios are crafting our next cutting-edge AAA open-world game, and we’re now looking for a Senior Gameplay Programmer to join our team in Malmö.

As a Gameplay Programmer on this project you will work with our designers to conceive of and implement elements of scripted and emergent world content, combat and activities. You will develop and maintain the tools and systems necessary for designers to create missions, build complex gameplay mechanics and tweak and balance the game. Your work will take you all over the codebase from underlying systems to weapons, from character mechanics to world interactions, from physics to VFX. In order to fully realise a feature or a section of gameplay, it is necessary to work closely with an array of disciplines.
To thrive in a gameplay programming position at Avalanche Studios, you need to be willing and have the ability to learn new tools and workflows.

What you’ll do:
Foster a collaborative environment and work with designers, animators and other coders in order to create and deliver features
Maintain a high standard of code quality and robustness
Participate in code reviews and mentor less experienced peers on the team
Work in a development environment with shared code and contribute with continuous improvements to our shared tech

Who you are:
Proficient in C++
Have a sense of fun gameplay
Have strong knowledge of gameplay code, systems and mechanics
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
It’s a plus if you have experience with in-house engine(s) and experience of being part of a full product cycle

Note: Research shows under-represented groups in the industry (especially women) might not apply to a job if they don’t check off every requirement. At Avalanche, we’re more about your drive to learn and interest in tackling challenges than what’s on your resume! So don’t stress if you don’t tick every box— shoot us your application anyway! Diverse opinions and different experiences are what make our teams so great, not itemized lists of qualifications.

As a Publishing Producer at Raw Fury, you will oversee the development of multiple titles with the goal of delivering quality experiences, on time and on budget across several platforms. You are a champion for the technical quality of the game and you have an eye for detail when it comes to setting milestones, creating a roadmap, setting the timeline, keeping the budget and enable all other parties to perform their part in the publishing process. You are not necessarily a developer but you have seen several games through the development process from pitch to release. You are a point of contact for the development teams and ensure a smooth experience from signing through release and beyond.
Responsibilities:
Define deliverables: Breaking down the project in to tangible deliverables and ensure the plan is executed successfully.
Creating a feasible roadmap and timeline
Estimate, maintain and allocate budget.
Regularly communicate the status of your projects and mitigate potential risks.
Maintain relationships with multiple teams, potentially across multiple time zones.

Requirements:
You’ve been in this role before. You've been working in a similar role for at least 5 years and have a proven track record of all of the above mentioned responsibilities carried out successfully. You have shipped at least 3 games and ideally been working both on the developer side as a project manager as well as on the publishing side.
You have experience from coordinating a remote team over several time zones and you enjoy it.
You’re a self-starter. When nobody has given you a task, you look for one. We prioritizes making things happen over keeping some kind of schedule, so we're expecting that you'll lead your title’s and coordinate the team efforts on your own volition.

We encourage anyone with the right qualifications to apply, but mind you there is a 10+ for hiring luck if you live in a European time zone.
When sending the application, please highlight the games released with you as the producer/project lead and on what platforms they were released. Visa mindre

Proficient in C++

The Malmö location

You’ll find us in a standout building from 1958, just a stone’s throw from the Central Station. Within these walls, the American dream was leveraged to sell muscle cars more than half a century ago. Today, the location balances Avalanche Studios Group’s industrial, high-octane heritage with a bright and homey vibe featuring resident dogs and patio-grown chilies.

Our values

At Avalanche Studios Group, we create worlds beyond limits. But that’s not exclusive to our games, so we’re committed to developing a diverse and inclusive workplace. All Avalanchers have a shared responsibility to create an open work environment where everyone is treated equally and respectfully. Being part of our world is not contingent on your heritage, your gender, or sexual orientation. It’s all about your passion and creativity.

We have more than 300 million users and customers worldwide, on our way of making the world a better place, one presentation at a time.
We are now looking for a Staff engineer to join our Product department. We offer a friendly and challenging environment where you will be meeting technically complex tasks and be given a lot of responsibility from day one. We believe in a fast paced development, with the possibility to try new things and experiment in a psychological safe environment.
What you'll do
A Staff engineer at Mentimeter will further help us level up our engineering teams and implement high-quality technology solutions.
You have an important role of facilitating and supporting collaboration between engineers solving challenging problems. While doing that you will act as a role model helping engineers grow in their roles. Collaborating with Product managers and Design peers across the company is an important part of your role and according to us crucial to succeed.
You will be a technical leader focusing both on engineering work in specific teams and supporting and coordinating technical projects across teams. We expect you to guide and lead architectural discussions and decisions, in alignment with business direction. You will contribute to code, mostly by supporting and teaching individuals and teams but potentially also in a more hands-on manner if there is a really tricky problem to solve that requires your skills.
In Mentimeter today we have three product areas, Core, Commercial and Tech Foundation. Based on our needs today your focus will be on product teams in Core and Commercial, meaning less focus on DevOps tools/practices nor infrastructure components. Alignment with the existing devops and infrastructure teams will of course be needed.
This staff engineer will play a critical role in framing technical “Northern star” values, iterate the business aligned technical strategy, and mature the execution across all teams. You will be working at the forefront of our offering, helping us position ourselves in our segment. You will be pushing boundaries through smart and innovative work with cutting edge technology.
Since the Developer Experience is important to us, we would love for you to raise your voice by influencing which tools, programming languages, and technologies we work with.
We believe you are
Typically, for this role we require 10 years of related work experience as a developer and through your experience you have gained a good understanding of development for the web. We also expect a minimum of 2 years of experience as a staff engineer or similar role in a similar environment.
You are a reliable, high-performing individual contributor with a solid understanding of your area of specialization.
You love working in an environment where you constantly experiment and iterate quickly and believe data is the most powerful tool for informed decision-making.
For this particular position, we believe you are a person who gets motivated by a short feedback-loop, quickly seeing the effect your work has on end-users. We believe the key to being the first mover in our segment is smart and innovative work aided by cutting edge technology. In order to thrive in this, with us moving fast forward, you should be flexible and embrace change.
Your current programming language of choice doesn’t really matter, as long as you are open to learning and trying new things. Of course, onboarding might be quicker if you know React, but we believe that you have the confidence to learn and navigate any tech stack. Self leadership is key here. For this specific role we are looking for full stack experience but leaning more towards frontend than backend.
In addition to being a good cultural fit (see our values below), we hope that you bring a passion for software development, scalable architecture and building great products. For us, is it important that everyone cares about code quality so an interest in testing and automation is needed. Excellent communication skills and being able to work both independently and in a team are some other traits we are looking for in all of our colleagues. We are also looking for a servant leader that has an interest in growing people.
Last but not least: Having a curious mindset, being open to learning & sharing knowledge and of course: that you are interested in working with our tech stack.
Not required
Swedish not required - we are an English-first company, daily work is carried out in English and the Mentimeter team currently spans over 40 different nationalities!
What Mentimeter can offer:
At Mentimeter we can offer a diverse and inclusive work environment supported by smart and driven colleagues. We believe in continuous professional development for all of our colleagues and therefore offer access to a leadership program (including external personal coach) and relevant education to ensure that we continue to be state-of-the-art when it comes to innovating and building Mentimeter. Your place will be in a growing company with lots of career opportunities, working on a beloved product used by more than 200 million people. It’s not all about work though, we also offer a very healthy view on work-life balance.
All of this comes attached with a competitive compensation and benefits package, including pension contributions. Once a year we also relocate to exciting places all over the world like Barcelona, Lisbon, Palermo, Madrid, cities South of Toronto (for our Toronto colleagues), and cities in APAC (for our Sydney colleagues), paid for by us of course. You can read more about our benefits & perks here.
Culture at Mentimeter:
At Mentimeter we believe in giving everyone a voice - regardless of who you are. So we build a platform that does just that. Our platform is not only our product but also our organization. A platform where people feel safe, where differences are embraced, a place where you can have fun. We strongly encourage applicants who are people of color, LGBTQ+, women, people with disabilities, and/or formerly incarcerated people, and a college degree is not strictly required. In order to give everyone a voice, we need to be as diverse as our users. Visa mindre

About Star Stable Entertainment

Star Stable Entertainment was founded in 2011, sparked by a desire for a game that could make a difference. Although half of gamers are girls and women, they were under-represented in the gaming industry, both as characters and creators. We dreamed of an epic online world where tween and teen girls could share an amazing experience. And we wanted to challenge how things were done in a male-dominated industry.

The result was Star Stable Online, which has gone on to become the world’s number one horse game with over 21 million registered users across 180 countries. We’re thrilled to welcome fun-loving players to the island of Jorvik, with its breathtaking scenery, beautiful horses, and magical quests. And we’re proud to see each player's special bond with their four-legged friends and the passionate community of Star Stable players.

As of 2022, our company has 200+ employees with a female to male ratio of 54/46, unheard of in the gaming industry. Our world has expanded into the Star Stable Universe and includes books, music, animated series, and mobile apps. And we continue to champion diverse characters and narratives, encouraging our audience to be their true selves. It’s wonderful to see our dream resonate with so many players around the world, and we can’t wait to share more stories and experiences with them!

Responsibility

Create art assets aligned with Star Stable Online’s style guide, and work on adding them to the world of Jorvik.
Take part in numerous updates and projects and see firsthand how the players react to the art you created for them.
Work cross-disciplinary and contribute to the projects with your insights and ideas.
Be creative within constraints: being able to combine optimization of your assets with high quality hand painted art.
To contribute with experience and know-how towards an efficient art pipeline.
Experience

Have a great experience of environmental art and feel inspired to keep creating great content with the players in mind.
Have an interest in hand painted styles - you love to seek new inspiration from other artists working with similar art styles.
Have a positive attitude to work within limited resources. You are creative and find new ways to work. Having good skills when it comes to colors and compositions are core skills for this role.
Consider the process of creating as a collaborative work between multiple disciplines and you value communication and collaboration in the creative process.

Interested? This is what we can offer you:

- Flexible working opportunities.

- We’re more than 50% female-identifying! #YES to #WomenInTech!

- 30 Vacation Days.

- ITP1 Insurance plan.

- Parental pay top up to 90%

Apply!

At Star Stable Entertainment, you will be a part of diverse culture with a no-crunch policy, a prioritised work-life balance, and a workforce eager to test and try new things! Systems Designer

We are looking for a Senior Systems Designer to join us in delivering our new game, which takes the most fun and challenging parts in the MOBA/MMORPG/ARPG space and presents them in a “cut to the chase” manner.

About us

At Chief Rebel, we view ourselves first and foremost as game developers. We want our games to be fun at all times during development, so we work extensively in-game with design, prototype and play! How we work is just as important as what we do, we encourage different perspectives and solutions, and we believe passionate discussion is key to unlocking potential. Working together and collaborating are more important to us than status and title.

What you will do

We are looking for a Senior System Designer to join one of our core teams. You will be part of a cross discipline team and guide the team to make the best decisions from a game design perspective.

- You will design, tune, and deliver systems such as Player progression systems (loot, skill trees, crafting, power curves), achievements and other forms of player performance tracking systems such as character performance statistics.

- You will champion the product vision with a team of artists, programmers, and designers

- You will deliver game systems that keep players engaged with the game’s retention across continuous live service updates for many years.

- You work closely with production to ensure the team is tracking on time and on quality

What you will bring

- Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience working as System Designer in the game industry and a passion for MMORPGS, action RPGs, MOBAs and a deep understanding of end-game systems, min/maxing, and balancing.

- You have strong communication and collaboration skills, and experience working with retention loops, monetization, progression systems, onboarding, customization, and currencies.

- You have experience leading cross-discipline feature teams.

- As a part of collaborating, it’s expected that you will share your knowledge and skills with the team and be open to mentoring others. You must be comfortable in an agile, dynamic work environment and be willing to learn, teach, help and take pride in enabling your team members.

- You are open to others’ perspectives and you welcome feedback. You are flexible and adaptable, playtest often and iterate to find the fun.

We welcome you!

We base our recruitment process on equal opportunities, with no regard to race, religion, gender, national origin, age, sexual orientation, marital status, pregnancy, medical condition, disability. Visa mindre
