Lead Project Cost Engineer
Are you a skilled cost control expert with a passion for driving financial excellence in groundbreaking projects? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join us as a Lead Project Cost Engineer. As part of our visionary team, you will have an important role in ensuring impeccable cost control and compliance with financial regulations for one major area of the Stegra Boden Project - one of the largest industrial projects in the history of Sweden.
This role will be based in Boden, Sweden.
Responsibilities:
Supervision, cost management for major areas, estimating in alignment of project objectives. Providing support to the given EPCM Contractors and assistance in resolution of problems.
Co-ordinate monthly meetings with EPCM contractors to review Cost Reports, cashflows, change management etc. and establish a process to accurately forecast cost upwards from construction contractors and supply vendors.
Coordinate the interface with stakeholders, including finance and accounting, to prepare written cost analysis and reports on timely and accurate forecast of project cost status.
Coordinate with Area Managers on cost review meetings monthly. Interface with the cost team and finance to prepare monthly internal reports.
Prepare and assist the Head of Project Services in the development and delivery of written/oral presentations to stakeholders.
Keep abreast of the ongoing work of the project to discern adverse trends, potential problem areas, opportunities and participate in their proactive management.

?Qualifications:
Approximately 10 years of experience in cost control on major industrial projects, ideally with EPCM contracting approach. Strong grasp of project delivery phases and associated activities, as outlined in cost management procedures and guidelines.
Proficient in the application of cost engineering, estimating, and planning practices outlined in AACE and PMI standards.
Comprehensive understanding of cross-functional collaboration, including interfaces with engineering, procurement, construction, safety, quality, finance/accounting, planning, and document control.
Familiarity with cost control software and the ability to analyze cost-saving value engineering scenarios, implementing effective reporting in line with guidelines.
Demonstrated expertise in estimating techniques, including overseeing major project estimating development and reviews.
Foster good communication and inter-personal skills to ensure a smooth teamwork.
Proactively work to anticipate challenges, collaborating effectively with various stakeholders, EPCMs and third-party suppliers to address potential issues promptly.

Our first Hydrogen based steel project in Boden is broken down into 4 areas: Hydrogen manufacturing, Iron making (DRI), Steel making, as well as Site Infrastructure and utilities.
As Head of Water Treatment Plant, you will report directly to the Head of BOP Area, and you will assume responsibility to deliver scope from engineering to hand-over to operations. As a Process Engineer, you will belong to the corporate Technical team which supports the company’s different projects and installations in all phases of their lives; from feasibility, through design and engineering, to project execution and operations, maintenance and asset management. The Technology team is responsible for process technology to make sure processes will work, being cost efficient and sustainable.
Currently, the team is fully focused on driving and supporting the progress of the Boden project. We are in an exciting phase of the project, going from basic to detailed engineering. Responsibilities:
Conduct reviews, verifications and provide technical support of equipment suppliers’ engineering solutions (focusing on safety, process, installation and product), making sure we keep high design standards.
Leading and/or participating in work groups for cross-functional design challenges.
Provide expert advice for construction and site support activities as necessary for equipment installation, (site acceptance) testing and commissioning.
Design and implement maintenance strategies for installations.

Qualifications:
Engineering Degree (min BEng/BSc) in a relevant discipline,ideally inChemical/Process Engineering.
Solid experience working in the steel industry on downstream process lines with specific expertise on annealing and galvanising lines.
7+ years of general process engineer experience or 5+ years of steel plant specific engineering experience.

About the role
Our first Hydrogen based steel project in Boden is broken down into 4 areas: Hydrogen manufacturing, Iron making (DRP), Steel making, as well as Site Infrastructure and utilities.
As Head of an Area, you will report directly to the Project Director of the Boden project, and you will assume responsibility to deliver such an area from engineering to hand-over to operations.
Your main responsibility is to deliver the project on time and budget by driving key contracts and coordinating resources across the internal team as well as with our partners. You will report status and escalations of the project directly into the management team and other stakeholders (such as Board) as necessary.
In addition to delivering the Boden project, you will develop H2GS' ability to execute projects in a way that competes on a global scale. You will be seen as an expert in project delivery within your area and will develop your cross-functional team accordingly. In the Head of Area position, you work in a matrix structure in close cooperation with Site Execution, Project Control and Engineering to optimize delivery.
The role is based in Sweden, with regular travel to various project, contractor, and fabrication sites as required.
Responsibilities:
· Lead the area project team (internally and with external partners) in setting priorities and delivery targets necessary to achieve the company’s goals for the project
· Setup and implement H2GS governance structure for your specific area across disciplines (e.g. procurement, engineering, construction, commissioning), ensuring it is functioning as required for driving communication, decisions, and control

· Fluency in English
· Track record as project manager driving complex projects, covering both planning/designing phase as well as execution phase
· Experience working on an owner’s team is a plus

Our Finance Team is looking for a Business Controller. As a Business Controller at H2 Green Steel, you will report to the Head of Business Control and be part of an expanding team of controllers that are working to build a best-in-class business control function at H2 Green Steel.

Sustainability Analyst -LCA
As our Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Analyst, you will play a key role in developing H2 Green Steel's Product Carbon Footprint models (PCFs) and LCAs for our current and future hydrogen, iron, and steel products based on our customer needs. As part of our Sustainability & Corporate Affairs team, you will contribute with expertise in environmental sustainability, using data-driven and analytical approaches to address all aspects of environmental impact.
Initially, you will be responsible for developing and managing our PCF models for H2 Green Steels product portfolio, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Furthermore, you will play a key role in developing our LCA capability to support existing and emerging projects. An important part of the role will be to collect and interpret data, perform in-depth analysis based on the results and present findings.
As a member of the sustainability team, you will also participate in initiatives and projects initiated by the team to drive H2 Green Steel's sustainability agenda and deliver on our promises, as well as providing guidance and expertise to other teams across the company. Compile data, perform in-depth analysis and effectively present findings to support decision-making.

Qualifications:
M.Sc. in relevant field such as Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering or similar.
Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience within the field of Life Cycle Assessment, preferably in industrial applications.
Strong analytical skills with deep understanding within the key elements of Life Cycle Assessments and Product Carbon Footprint modelling.
Familiarity with relevant standards such as ISO 14040, ISO 14044, ISO 14067, GHG Protocol and EN 15804.
Proficient in relevant LCA softwares and LCA databases, MS Office suite and a general ability to use digital tools. Demonstrable experience in programming languages such as python is a plus but not required.
Ability to communicate and present results clearly and effectively.
Excellent skills in written and spoken English; knowledge of Swedish is an advantage.

Head of Engineering
The Head of Engineering is primarily responsible for ensuring that the H2GS Boden Project Engineering activities are carried out in a timely manner, within budget, and with excellent quality. The Head of Engineering will build and lead a team to coordinate with the engineering firms and construction firms assigned scope needed to construct the Boden project Plant, while also closely collaborating with the Process Equipment providers engineers and field technical teams. This role and associated team will work closely with the H2GS Contracting and Construction teams. The role is a group function and will be highly influential in how H2GS will transform from designing, delivering and operating the Boden plant to driving multiple projects globally where concepts and scopes can be reused and repeated across projects. The Head of Engineering is the leader responsible for implementing the principles and strategies needed to scale engineering practices. A goal is to build a capability in the organization that becomes a key competitive advantage in H2GS’s business that will enable H2GS to be a forerunner in the industrial transformation happening globally.

Project Manager - Hydrogen Technology
As Project Manager, you will be the hydrogen technology interface towards H2GS’ hydrogen projects under development. You will manage the technical scope of H2GS’ projects together with the engineering and project teams. This includes managing the projects towards the hydrogen equipment providers and developing the relationship with them over time. Additionally, you will continuously support H2GS in evaluation of new projects, vendors and technical solutions. Design Lead Steel Mill
Our first Hydrogen-based steel project in Boden is broken down into 4 areas: Hydrogen manufacturing (HMP), Iron making (DRI), Steel making (STM), and Site Infrastructure and utilities.
As Design Lead Steel Mill, you will report directly to the Head of Engineering of H2GS, and you will assume responsibility to manage the engineering delivery from our external EPCm partners for the Steel Mill Project. As one of our area engineering managers, to optimize project delivery, you work in a matrix structure including Site Execution, Project Controls, Procurement, as well as Engineering and report on a project basis to the Head of Steel Area project manager.
Your main responsibility is to ensure our external partners’ delivery of engineering on time and on budget, as well as ensuring a design delivery that meets H2GS specs, design basis, safety standards, and that it is a fit-for-purpose minimum technical solution, well-coordinated across disciplines, and constructable. You will manage this by coordinating internal engineering disciplines in their priorities and decision making, and by interfacing with external partner engineering manager counterparts. You will report status and escalations of the project engineering directly to the project management team and other stakeholders as necessary.
In addition to delivering the Boden project, you will develop H2GS' ability to execute projects in a way that competes on a global scale. You will be seen as an expert in project engineering delivery within your area and will develop your cross-disciplined team accordingly.
The role is based in Stockholm, Sweden, with regular travel to site in Boden and to EPCm and OEM partners in Central Europe. Primary location in The Hague, Netherlands with frequent travel to other locations is also a possibility.


Responsibilities
Lead the area project engineering team (internally and with external partners) in ensuring satisfactory execution of design delivery targets necessary to achieve the company’s goals for the project.

Qualifications
Minimum 15 years industry experience, of which at least 5 years with hands-on management of engineering contractors in demanding industrial environment (e.g. Steel, Oil & gas, semiconductor, automotive, battery manufacturing)
The candidate should have a master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline such as civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or any other field related to the industry in which the projects are taking place.
Fluency in English
Track record as an engineering manager driving complex projects, managing cross-discipline teams

We are recruiting a Hydrogen Technical Safety Engineering Lead for our hydrogen plant; looking for someone with previous experience in the field of hydrogen production or from working in the: oil & gas, petrochemical, carbon capture or energy transition industries. The H2 Green Steel hydrogen plant is the first of its kind with large scale electrolyzer process systems as well as high pressure storage. In order to deliver a safe solution and prepare authorities as well as permit applications, we will be conducting several safety studies; such as: safety reviews, risk analysis, explosion and blast analysis, CFD modelling, gas detection and measurements. Safety is a top priority for H2GS which is why we need to bring an experienced Technical Safety Engineering Lead on board with previous experience from working in the Nordic region and understanding of local legislation.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the technical safety and engineering aspects of the design within the project are developed and maintained to the relevant acceptable standards and applicable legislation. You will review the engineering documentation and give guidance on safety to other stakeholders for the hydrogen facility.

We are recruiting an Experienced Instrumentation & Automation Engineer for the
hydrogen plant with previous experience from working in the oil & gas, petrochemical, carbon capture or energy transition industries. - Engineering of specialized packages used for green hydrogen plants like electrolysers, fuel cells etc. Familiar with different electrolyser types, instrumentation requirements for electrolysers, hydrogen standards and leak detection systems

- Technical specifications for bulk items like cable, cable tray, junction box, hook-ups, bulk MTO for instrumentation items

- Sizing of flow instruments, control valves, PSV using CONVAL software

- Good understanding of documents from other disciplines like;
- Process: PFD/P&ID;’s, cause & effect, control narratives, shutdown philosophies.

- Safety: HAZOP/HAZID/SIL studies.

- Electrical: UPS & Non-UPS supply requirements, Motor interface, Single line diagrams.

- Piping: Piping material specification, Valve material specifications.

- 3D Model review using SP3D, PDS, PDMS, AVEVA software’s.

- Instrumentation engineering support for rotary & static packages like compressors, pumps, blowers etc.

- Evaluate multiple vendors offers, prepare technical bid analysis, review vendor drawings, data sheets, design calculations and rate the vendor on technical grounds.

- Co-ordination with site construction contractors and operations team to provide field engineering support during the construction and commissioning phase of the project.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Industrial Instrumentation, Process Automation, Electronic, Instrument/Control, etc.)

- Extensive hands-on experience in handling conceptual basic and detail engineering roles, preferably as a Working/Senior/Engineer in reputable engineering firms (having worked on assignments for green and brown field plants in chemical, petrochemical, refinery, power, oil & gas or similar) giving experience in equipment selections, specifications, requisitions, technical bids evaluation and supplier document reviews, etc.; alternatively having worked for equipment manufacturers process plant equipment.

- Extensive experience in the field of automation and instrumentation systems including in DCS & PLC control systems and field instrumentation and reviewing technical drawings, logic drawings, and instrumentation specifications. Project Procurement Manager

Strategic Project Manager

As a Strategic Project Manager, you will be part of H2 Green Steels Project Delivery Team, responsible for Project Management, Engineering, Construction and Controls of the H2GS project portfolio. This position is in the Strategic Sprints Team and reports to the head of Strategic Sprints. The role is based in Stockholm.

As a member of the Strategic Sprints Team, you will form a key part of the project management team in delivering fast-tracked projects. The strategic sprints run as 1-3 month cross-functional projects that solve high priority challenges in a fast pace. The sprints will for example consist of business case analysis for scope changes, value engineering, procurement, contracting and fast-track engineering.

You will lead and coordinate team members and interface with subject matter experts both within H2GS and at partner organizations. The automation and controls lead is responsible for overseeing the design work for automation and controls engineering for project Boden. Process Automation Lead - Hot & Cold Rolling: The Process Automation Lead (Hot & Cold Rolling) will be an integral part of the company’s technology division reporting to the Head of Process Optimization and Automation. Responsibilities:

- Be the custodian of process automation systems for the hot and cold rolling areas (includes hot and cold rolling, pickling, galvanising, and coating lines).
- Custodianship includes inter-alia: safety, standards, compliance, design, development, engineering, construction, commissioning, asset reliability, and product lifecycle management.
- Working closely with SMS Group (technology provider) in terms of ongoing preparation and planning to ensure successful and reliable implementation of X-Pact modular automation packages for the hot and cold rolling areas.
- Adopt a leading role in the planning and execution of the various digital pre-commissioning of automation systems during the X-Pact simulation testing (‘Plug & Work’) to ensure shorter commissioning period and associated faster production ramp-up.
- The adoption of a leading simulation / testing role in terms of planning and preparation will also extend to the near-reality advanced training for operations and maintenance personnel which will take place prior to commissioning of the hot and cold rolling plants.
- Adopt a leading role post-commissioning in assisting with the continuous optimisation of the production processes and help develop the necessary tools to benchmark and optimise product quality in the hot and cold rolling areas.
- Use the digital technologies and tools to turn data into information thereby adding value that improves plant performance, cost position, product quality and CO2 abatement.
- The Process Automation Lead (Hot & Cold Rolling) will help further develop the H2GS data platform to allow for automatic processing and management of process measurement data to aid in detailed root cause analysis and plant optimisation.
- You will lead the further development of process automation and tools in terms of Digitalization / Industry 4.0 to assist in the enhancement of the Asset Reliability Program and in improving predictive maintenance information via enhanced capabilities.
- Advanced digitalization increases the risk of cyber-attacks and requires the implementation of industrial security to safely protect the process automation infrastructure and associated operations. The Process Automation Lead will therefore collaborate closely with the Digital team to ensure that the risk of cyber-attack has been actioned via the implementation of the identified protection requirements. Ensure that the risk analysis conducted by the respective technology provider is both thorough and effective and conforms to the appropriate standard i.e., IEC 62443.
- Supporting the Digital Team with future technology developments by adopting a leading role in future technology development in terms of AI and Edge technologies (e.g., local machine analysis and transmission to higher-level systems, process automation digital assistants for operations and maintenance staff and digital twin concepts to boost asset performance).
- Be the custodian for the management of automation system product lifecycle in terms of hot and cold rolling automation systems. Assist with the development of effective control mechanisms to manage the lifecycle process from phase-out announcement to product cancellation and discontinuation.
- Help design the technology of the future (together with customers and equipment suppliers), identifying the next generation of equipment for automation and optimised production flow e.g. IIoT, next generation automation architectures, unified namespaces, and wireless technologies.

Project Procurement Specialist

We are recruiting a Hydrogen Technical Safety Engineering Lead for our hydrogen plant; looking for someone with previous experience in the field of hydrogen production or from working in the: oil & gas, petrochemical, carbon capture or energy transition industries. The H2 Green Steel hydrogen plant is the first of its kind with large scale electrolyzer process systems as well as high pressure storage. In order to deliver a safe solution and prepare authorities as well as permit applications, we will be conducting several safety studies; such as: safety reviews, risk analysis, explosion and blast analysis, CFD modelling, gas detection and measurements. Safety is a top priority for H2GS which is why we need to bring an experienced Technical Safety Engineering Lead on board with previous experience from working in the Nordic region and understanding of local legislation.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the technical safety and engineering aspects of the design within the project are developed and maintained to the relevant acceptable standards and applicable legislation. You will review the engineering documentation and give guidance on safety to other stakeholders for the hydrogen facility.

Design Coordination & Interface Manager

This position will help drive engineering delivery for our projects, by managing interfaces between engineering contractors. This role will be critical in ensuring all stakeholders deliver the required design and execution scopes to build a successful project. It will ensure no gaps between our EPCM’s, OEM’s, and outsource partners. The technical and leadership skills required to ensure all scopes are delivered per plan will lend well to someone with a strong discipline engineering (mechanical, piping, E&I) and equipment background with experience working on major projects with many supplier and contractor interfaces.

Responsibilities:

- Establish the tools and process to define and manage interfaces between internal and external project stakeholders (scope of delivery matrix, take over points list, scope of delineation, etc.).

- Development and maintenance of the Interface Plan and other key project documents

About the role

As Project Manager, you will support the Head of Steel Plant Area. Director Hydrogen Mechanical Engineering and Interface Manager / Hydrogen Mechanical Engineering and Interface Management Lead
H2 Green Steel will produce green steel, reducing CO2 emissions with 95 percent compared to traditional steelmaking. By using green hydrogen and fossil-free electricity instead of coal; water and heat will be our primary emissions. By 2030, we will produce 5 million tonnes of green steel annually in our fully integrated, digitalized, and sustainable plant in Boden, located in northern Sweden. We are recruiting an engineer with previous experience from working in the oil & gas, petrochemical, carbon capture or energy transition industries. You will be responsible for both non-rotating and rotating equipment issues and deliverables at all stages of the project, working closely with external consultancies, vendors and suppliers and establishing solid intra and interdisciplinary relationships. You will also be responsible for interface management as it relates to the design work. In order to be successful at H2 Green Steel you will need to be able to work well in a greenfield environment, be able to navigate in ambiguity, eager to find solutions and highly motivated by driving this industry shift. We expect you are a hard worker, well organized, proactive, with a teamwork attitude, a flexible approach and ability to work under pressure.
Responsibilities
Conduct reviews, verifications and provide technical support of equipment suppliers’ engineering, including testing, installation, and commissioning of equipment, including familiarity with risk assessments, design reviews, constructability, HAZOP, etc.
Handle the interface management related to the design and engineering work and coordinate with other internal functions such as Construction Project Planning and Control, and Procurement etc. as well as external parties
Assist with specification and selection of suitable rotating machinery/equipment
Review/evaluate equipment technical specifications and supplier documentation, specifications and mechanical & process data sheets, enquiries, technical bid analysis and technical recommendations and vendor review
Provide expert advice for construction and site activities as necessary for equipment installation, start-up and commissioning
Technical supervision of supplier design and control of supplier interface, plus the co-ordination of interfaces with other engineering disciplines
Plan and monitor the execution and supporting in techno-economical evaluations



Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Extensive hands-on experience in handling conceptual basic and detail engineering roles, preferably as a Senior/Principal/Lead Engineer in reputable engineering firms (having worked on assignments for green and brown field plants in chemical, petrochemical, refinery, power, oil & gas or similar) giving experience in equipment selections, specifications, requisitions, technical bids evaluation and supplier document reviews, etc.; alternatively having worked for equipment manufacturers conducting operation and maintenance of process plant equipment
Applicable and demonstrable experience working on rotating, package equipment, material handling equipment for process plant project
Good knowledge with International Codes and Standards applicable to all types of (API and Non-API) compressors, turbines, pumps, blowers agilators, material handling equipment etc.
Excellent English communication skills
