Do you want to work broadly with administration and service within the HR field? We are now looking for a meticulous, structured, curious, and engaged HR Generalist for a parental leave cover position (60–100%) for approximately 6–8 months. 
In this role, you will be an important part of the HR team, working primarily in close collaboration with HR Business Partners and the HR Director. You will also have the opportunity to support other departments as needs arise. This role is well suited for someone who is likely at the beginning of their HR career and/or wants to develop in a broad and varied position.

About the role 
As an HR Generalist, you will primarily work with administrative and coordinating tasks within HR. You will play a central role in ensuring that our HR processes run smoothly and efficiently. 
This is a broad role where you will assist with a wide variety of tasks. Your responsibilities will include, among others: 
Preparing employment contracts and other HR-related documents  
Registering and updating information in HR systems  
Following up on sick leave cases and supporting related administration  
Producing statistics and reports from HR systems  
Supporting recruitment processes (e.g., job postings, coordination, and administration)  
Assisting HR Business Partners and HR Director in day-to-day HR work  
Providing administrative support to other departments and units as needed  
Contributing to the development and improvement of administrative HR processes

Additional information

The Department of Economics at the Stockholm School of Economics is announcing three full-time pre-doctoral research assistant positions.

The positions are of limited duration (11 months) and will be based at the SSE premises in central Stockholm. One of the positions might be remote, to be determined at a later stage. We offer competitive salaries with additional pension and social security contributions.

These positions are intended for candidates who have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics or a closely related field and are interested in gaining research experience before applying to a PhD program. Pre-doctoral research assistants work closely with faculty members and become part of an active research environment.

Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Research Assistants will be to assist faculty members with applied economic research. Tasks may include, for example:

- Preparing and managing large datasets for empirical analysis
- Conducting econometric analysis using statistical software
- Creating tables, figures, and presentations for academic papers and seminars
- Conducting literature reviews and summarizing research fields
- Supporting the development and implementation of research projects
- Assisting with research documentation and replication files
- Contributing to research outputs such as working papers, policy reports, and presentations

The exact combination of responsibilities may vary across the three positions depending on the needs of the research projects. The posts will involve working for SSE researchers, including Martina Björkman Nyqvist, Jaakko Meriläinen, Shan Huang, and Céline Zipfel.

Qualifications
Applicants should:

- Hold or be close to completing a BA/BSc or MA/MSc degree in Economics or a related field
- Have strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Have good knowledge of statistical software packages such as Stata or R
- Have familiarity with research tools such as LaTeX and programming languages such as Python or Matlab (an advantage), as well as LLM tools (e.g. Claude Code, Gemini)
- Be comfortable working with large datasets
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a research environment
- Have excellent written and spoken English
- For one of these positions, fluency in Swedish in addition to English would be preferred.

We are looking for a highly motivated predoctoral research assistant to join our international research team, including Assistant Professor Amanda Dahlstrand at the University of Zurich, Postdoc Shan Huang at Stockholm School of Economics, and Associate Professor Guy Michaels at the London School of Economics.

The research assistant will assist in research projects that study healthcare provision and the role of digitization. This is an exciting opportunity to shape new directions for the projects, work with novel microdata, and refine the skills needed for empirical research.  

We are seeking a candidate with an Economics degree (BA/BSc or MA/MSc) and a strong capacity for independent work within a supervised research environment. “Predoctoral” refers to a candidate who has not yet started a PhD program but may wish to apply for one later. The position is ideal for those who want to apply for a PhD. The ideal start date is early June (we can accommodate exams) and no later than mid-July, and the initial contract duration will be around one year.

Key responsibilities
The primary task of the research assistant will be to assist in conducting applied economic research. This can, for example, include preparing large datasets for analysis, implementing econometric methods, creating figures and tables, or surveying parts of the literature. The research assistant will participate in regular meetings and contribute to exploring new directions in developing the projects.

Qualifications
The candidate should have completed a BA/BSc or MA/MSc degree by July 2026. 

Good knowledge of Stata (statistical software packages) is essential. Familiarity with other research tools, such as LaTeX and statistical or computing languages, such as R and Python, is a strong advantage. Experience in working with microdata and proficiency in Swedish are appreciated.

The post will be located in Stockholm (on-site, no remote work) and is full-time with a competitive salary.

The primary responsibility of the Research Assistants (RAs) will be to assist faculty members in the House of Innovation with research-related tasks. This could include, for example, conducting interviews, collecting archival data, participating to and co-facilitating workshops, conducting qualitative analysis, creating presentations, and surveying parts of the literature.

Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of Swedish is meritorious. Familiarity with qualitative research methods and research experience is a strong advantage. Applicants should have at least a bachelor’s degree in a social science discipline (e.g., business, economics) by the time the positions start; more advanced studies will be considered a merit.

The RAs will work under the direct supervision of Professor Mattia Bianchi and postdoctoral researchers Maria Cecilia Flores and Ricardo Coelho da Silva and will actively collaborate with academics inside and outside SSE.

The projects
The RAs will be involved in the activities of the research group at the House of Innovation coordinated by Professor Mattia Bianchi. The group’s research broadly examines how individuals, organizations, and businesses relate to, organize with, interact with, and develop new business models with nature. It addresses important questions concerning how sustainable businesses and communities are formed, how they operate and evolve over time, and how they both affect and are affected by nature.

The projects the RAs will work on draw on different organizational theories. For example, one project focuses on place and embeddedness, to explore how forest owners’ ecological and emotional ties to their land shape sustainable practices, and how external threats—such as climate or regulatory pressures—can reshape these ties and activate new forms of custodianship. Another project focus on the development of novel market categories, looking how entrepreneurs develop business models that significantly incorporate nature in their products or services
The methods used are mainly qualitative, and the data is based on interviews, observations, archival data, and workshops. The RAs will receive resources, support and mentoring to produce sound research that will contribute to sustainable management of natural resources, organization theory, and communities.

Work tasks
The job involves assisting the investigators at HOI with the following tasks, for example:

- desk research (e.g. archival and secondary data collection and organization of the information)
- conducting, transcribing and analysing interviews and observations
- reviewing literature
- organizing data (e.g. documents, meeting agendas, audiovisuals)
- supporting the research group in organizing and facilitating workshops and other group activities (e.g., meeting minutes, sending invitations, coordinating logistics)

Qualifications
The selected candidate has the following qualifications:

- You are about to finish (or have recently completed) your bachelor studies in management, sociology, economics or related disciplines.
- You have a strong interest in organization, management, and natural ecosystems, as well as
- the ability to conduct qualitative research tasks.

The role

The House of Innovation is looking for a dedicated scholar with a robust research background to join us for two years.

The ideal candidate must be comfortable working collaboratively with a dynamic team. The position will be at the heart of growing research programs on sustainable supply chain transformation/ supply chain ecosystems. The wider context of the House of Innovation allows research to delve into the areas of transformative innovation, particularly the twin transition (green and digital) of industries, working primarily with Professors Constantin Blome and Pär Åhlström. The successful candidate has built a research agenda during their PhD and is keen to jointly publish in top tier journals. Furthermore, the funding context allows the exploration of unique data access in industry and the pursuit of exiting new research topics. Background
The Center for Statecraft and Strategic Communication (CSSC), located at the Department for Marketing and Strategy at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE), is pleased to announce fellowships for three two-year postdoctoral fellows wishing to pursue historically informed research about strategic communication in statecraft.

In addition to being part of SSE, the postdoctoral fellows join an international consortium, the Ax:son Johnson Institute for Statecraft and Diplomacy (AJI).

Incoming postdoctoral fellows will work closely with the affiliates of CSSC as well as being given opportunities to participate in the Center’s activities and the broader intellectual community of SSE. They will also collaborate with faculty, affiliates, students, and fellows from the other institutes in the consortium, creating a multi-institutional, multi-national intellectual community that spans the Atlantic, as well as have publishing opportunities through Engelsberg Ideas.

Research topics
CSSC’s research profile combines history, statecraft, and strategic communication. Our concern with history means that we are interested in past events, but also that we seek to situate current events historically, aiming to apply historical lessons to contemporary phenomena and to understand them as parts of long-term processes. The focus on statecraft means that we are interested in international affairs, and how political leaders navigate the security challenges facing their countries. With strategic communication, we refer to the use of information or disinformation by states and other political actors to achieve strategic objectives. This can entail rhetoric, public diplomacy, propaganda, disinformation, diplomacy, intelligence, strategic narratives, and similar phenomena.

The ideal research project should be situated at the intersection of these three areas, but we are also open to projects with links to one of two of them, as long as the overall orientation fits our overarching concern with statecraft and diplomacy. In addition, research projects relating economic history to statecraft will also be considered. Ultimately, we seek to attract high-caliber candidates pursuing research that fits our research profile.

Our research is firmly grounded in the classic humanities and the history of international affairs. We favor writing in a plain style and support efforts to disseminate research findings to the general public.

Requirements
Candidates must, at the time of assuming the position, hold a Ph.D. (defended not later than three years prior to starting the position) in a relevant discipline such as history, political science, economics, business administration or communication studies. CSSC’s postdoctoral researchers are expected to complete a two-year research project. This can be two or more peer-reviewed articles or a book project. Postdoctoral scholarships can be prolonged if the recipients conduct work for CSSC or AJI, for instance as lecturers or as project managers. Knowledge of Swedish is a merit.

Terms
The three fully funded postdoctoral positions cover two years, and the work is mainly located at CSSC’s premises located at the Stockholm School of Economics. The monthly salary (subject to tax) is around SEK 45 500. Costs for conference participation, travel to our partner universities and necessary literature will be covered by CSSC up to a certain limit as decided by the center director.

Admitted fellows are expected to start around 1 September 2026.

Successful candidates will have opportunity to gain teaching training and experience at SSE during their postdoc period. They will be able to participate in seminars and courses for pedagogical development offered at SSE. Specific teaching assignments could either be in one of the dedicated courses offered by the Center for Statecraft and Strategic Communication or in other course offered by the Department of Marketing and Strategy.

Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets (MISUM) at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) is entering an exciting new phase when we are expanding our work and are seeking an operationally strong and collaborative Executive Director to support the center’s development and ensure high-quality day-to-day operations.

The position is a one-year post doc, with the option for an additional 10 months, in the field of experimental economics.

The post doc will work together with Professor Anna Dreber and coauthors on projects related to experimental economics, including lab-in-the-field experiments in development contexts. This post doc will work with Associate Professor Abhijeet Singh and coauthors on projects funded by his European Research Council Starting grant (EDINCLUSION).

This research agenda focuses on improving education systems in India with an emphasis on school markets, learning, and social inclusion. Experience with empirical methods in the economics of education is an advantage: this can include, e.g., one or more of experiment design, survey design, program evaluation or structural modelling (e.g. in models of school choice or achievement production functions).

The objective for this position is to coauthor high quality journal articles. There is no teaching associated with the position and the post doc will also have time to advance solo-authored projects. The postdoc will be embedded in an active research environment at the Department of Economics and, especially, with vibrant research groups in development economics and applied microeconomics. Some field travel to India is expected.

The target start date for the position is September 1, 2026 and can be between 11-22 months, subject to mutual agreement at the beginning of the contract. A one-year postdoc may suit candidates that will (or plan to) begin a tenure-track assistant professor position at another institution in fall 2027. The tenure-track position is in business administration with a focus on accounting – including areas such as financial reporting, auditing, management accounting and control, and sustainability accounting – ideally complemented by an emphasis on data analytics, artificial intelligence, or digitalization.

The successful candidate is expected to thrive in a research environment that values methodological pluralism and theoretical diversity in the study of accounting phenomena.

The appointment is for six years. The basic requirement is that candidates are strong both in research and teaching. The Education Office (EdO) is one of the Professional Services units at SSE. We are currently about 50 staff members working in EdO. We function as a hub in the SSE journey. The team Global Initiatives is a part of the unit Education Office and it consists of 5 people. About the Role
We are seeking an Exchange Coordinator to play a key role in advancing the School’s internationalization strategy. This position manages student mobility across all levels (BSc and MSc, both incoming and outgoing) and combines Key Account Manager responsibilities for partner universities with process development and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities
Serve as Key Account Manager for 30–35 international partner universities, with full responsibility for exchange-related activities.


Guide and support students before, during, and after their exchange period.


Build and maintain strong relationships with partner universities.


Ensure effective, transparent, and student-centered administration of exchange mobility.


Lead the development, documentation, and improvement of assigned processes (e.g., outgoing students, incoming students, statistics).

Beyond basic academic research, the successful candidates will be expected to contribute to, and participate in, the Arena’s multistakeholder activities as well as communicate their research in policy and practitioner briefs.

The applicants must hold a PhD by time of employment and show an ability and ambition to publish manuscripts in highly ranked, international scholarly journals. Preference will be given to those who have a doctoral degree that is not older than 5 years at the time of application. The Department of Marketing and Strategy at the Stockholm School of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Strategic Management and/or International Management.

We are looking for candidates with a completed Ph.D. degree in Business Administration (primarily Strategic Management but related subdisciplines could be relevant). The ideal candidate is someone with a promising research record as evidenced by publications, probable potential to publish, or a pipeline of submitted papers in top tier journals. We are specifically looking for candidates with a documented interest in and experience from research in strategy process and practice, strategic entrepreneurship and/or behavioural strategy. A successful candidate is expected to actively participate in one or more of the ongoing research projects at the Department.

The successful candidate will be part of the core faculty in Strategic and International Management at the Department and primarily teach within these two subject areas (Bachelor, Master and Executive levels, all with English as instruction language). Research and teaching are equally important and the candidate will be offered support and training in pedagogy. The standard teaching load for tenure track faculty at SSE is four courses per year with the possibility of a 50% reduction through external research grants. Due to partial funding via a Browaldh research stipend, the current position automatically has a reduced teaching load (only two courses/year) during the tenure track period. The candidate is expected to engage in collaboration with external stakeholders in both research and teaching, tapping into our wide network of partner organizations.

Requirements
The position requires a PhD in Business Administration focused on Strategic Management and/or related areas, e.g. International Management, from an accredited university or business school (EQUIS, AACSB, or AMBA). Candidates must have completed their PhD prior to taking up the position and must demonstrate a strong research interest in strategic management and a commitment to high quality research and teaching in relevant areas. Preference will be given to candidates who have published in top journals, have a proven track record of international peer-reviewed publications, and/ or a strong pipeline of submitted papers. Candidates should have an active presence in the international research community in the field. Reviewing experience from relevant journals is a merit.

We are looking for candidates with a Ph.

D. degree in the social sciences or humanities with a particular interest in the ideas, functioning, historical development, organizing, and/or effects of markets in society. The ideal candidate is someone with a promising research record as evidenced by publications – or the credible potential to publish – in top tier journals. We are specifically looking for candidates with a documented interest in and experience from interdisciplinary research on markets. The successful candidates are expected to actively participate in and develop the ongoing research at the center (see below).

The positions are part of the faculty at the Department of Marketing and Strategy and teaching will broadly be within these two subject areas (at bachelor, master and executive levels with English as instruction language). Research and teaching are equally important, and the candidates will be offered support and training in pedagogy. The standard teaching load for tenure track faculty at SSE is four courses per year with the possibility of a 50% reduction through external research grants. Due to generous external funding of the center, the current positions come with a fully reduced teaching load (the equivalent of two courses/year) during the tenure track period. The Department of Finance at the Swedish House of Finance and the Stockholm School of Economics seeks applications for full-time pre-doctoral research analyst positions in empirical financial economics funded by the European Research Council and the Wallenberg Foundations, to start on or after 1 July 2025 (subject to agreement).

The positions will suit intellectually curious candidates who intend to gain experience of research in financial economics before applying to a top-level PhD program in finance or economics. As a research analyst, you will be working on cutting-edge data-intensive research projects in collaboration with fellow pre-docs and under the supervision of Professor Alexander Ljungqvist.

The primary responsibility of the Research Assistant (RA) will be to assist faculty members in the Department of Economics with research-related tasks. This could include, for example, preparing datasets, conducting econometric analysis, developing questionnaires, creating presentations or figures, and surveying parts of the literature. One of the RA positions will also involve working as a teaching assistant for two BSc or MSc courses during the academic year.

Good knowledge of statistical software packages, particularly Stata, is essential. Familiarity with other research tools, such as Matlab, LaTeX, and programming languages like Python or Julia, is a strong advantage. The F1RST Foundation is a new initiative by the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) and the Daniel Sachs Foundation (DSF), with the long-term ambition to diversify and make the Swedish business sector more inclusive.

The Pedagogical and Digital Development Lead will play an important role in enhancing teaching and learning experiences at SSE.

The Center for Sustainability Research (CSR), Sustainable Finance Lab (SFL) is looking for a dedicated scholar with a robust research background to join us for one year, with the possibility for extension.

The ideal candidate must be comfortable working independently and collaboratively with a dynamic team. The position will be at the heart of growing research projects on the social dimensions of sustainability, with a particular focus on modern slavery as connected to migration in Europe.

The successful candidate has built a research agenda during their PhD and is keen to develop new datasets and extend methodological and theoretical expertise. The general disciplinary background should be within the social sciences, combining macro systems and organizational level perspectives in sociology connecting to migration and business studies. The research project centers on the growing labor market exploitation of migrants in the high-income, welfare states like those in the Nordic region. The research seeks to address critical questions related to migration policies and business models, connected also to how financial market actors integrate concerns for labor market exploitation in their investments.

A background with experience in qualitative methods (case studies, interviews and observations) is essential. Sufficient knowledge of statistics to understand macrolevel data is welcome. This role is ideal for candidates who are enthusiastic about contributing to our understanding of the tensions between migration and labor market integration policies as they relate to business models and management practice. The applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent and show an ability and aspiration to publish manuscripts in top journals. Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken) is a requirement, while proficiency in Swedish (written and spoken) is an advantage. We expect the candidate to relocate to Stockholm.

Vi söker dig som har arbetat som fastighetstekniker, drifttekniker eller fastighetsskötare.

I rollen som fastighetstekniker ansvarar du för den inre och yttre skötseln av våra fyra fastigheter om totalt 23 625 kvm. Du genomför drift, skötsel och underhåll av fastigheternas alla tekniska system, utför mindre reparationer samt agerar som beställare.

The House of Innovation is looking for a dedicated scholar with a robust research background to join us for two years.

The ideal candidate must be comfortable working collaboratively with a dynamic team. The position will be at the heart of growing research programs on sustainable business development through transformative innovation and entrepreneurship, the twin transition (green and digital) of industries, and business ethics, working primarily with Professor Mattia Bianchi. The position comes with an option to teach and strong support to publish existing research from the PhD.

The successful candidate has built a research agenda during their PhD and is keen to develop new datasets and extend methodological and theoretical expertise. The general disciplinary background should be managerial and organization cognition, innovation, business strategy and the environment, with a strong interest in systems thinking, sensemaking and paradox theories, and the ambition to publish on the highest levels in management and organization science. The research program centers on the management of natural resources and in particular of forest ecosystems. It seeks to address critical questions related to the sustainable ethos and practices of various actors in the forest industry, the role of new technologies and business models to achieve a better balance between production, social and environmental values of forests.

A background with experience in qualitative methods (case studies, interviews and observations) is essential. Sufficient knowledge of quantitative methods is also welcome. This role is ideal for candidates who are enthusiastic about contributing to our understanding of the tensions between economy and ecology, and how these challenges can be addressed through innovative cognitive frameworks, technologies, and business models. Candidates will explore the wider societal and planetary repercussions of the use of natural resources by humans.

Shan Huang and Amanda Dahlstrand are looking for a highly motivated research assistant to join our international research team.

We are seeking a recent BA graduate or a current MSc/PhD student in economics (or a related field) with an interest in health, labor, or organizational economics and a strong capacity for independent supervised work.

Key responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the research assistant will be to support in conducting applied economic research. This role requires meticulous data work with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail. Tasks include the preparation of large datasets for analysis, implementation of econometric methods, help in creating presentations and figures, or literature surveys. The research assistant will participate in regular meetings and contribute to exploring new directions in developing the project.

Qualifications
Good knowledge of Stata is essential. Familiarity with other research tools such as LateX and statistical or computing languages such as R and Python is a strong advantage. Experience in working with administrative microdata and proficiency in Swedish is appreciated.

The research assistant will assist in research projects that study health care provision and the role of digitization. This is an exciting opportunity to shape new directions for the projects, work with novel micro data, and refine your skills needed to organize and execute empirical research. An undergraduate degree in Economics or a closely related quantitative discipline to be completed by the post start date is required.

Terms
The position will be physically based in Stockholm with a flexible work percentage arrangement. A full-time salary corresponds to 29 000 SEK/month (with additional pension and social security contributions). The preferred start date is October 1, 2024.
