The Voluntary Carbon Market is still nascent, and Nasdaq will play a key role in shaping a well-functioning carbon market that will help corporates and companies in their net-zero strategy. The Nasdaq Carbon team is leading the development of a more transparent and trusted carbon removal market, to support allocation of capital to relevant project with the aim to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Integrity, Transparency and Technology will play a key role in this journey.


The Carbon Business Development team lead Nasdaq’s ambition in driving the scale up of carbon removals, by executing on Nasdaq capabilities in operating markets, technology and data. The Carbon team consists of 3 pillars: Market Development, Sales Enablement and Business Development. The team is also responsible for Nasdaq’s ownership and partnership with Puro.earth, the leading carbon crediting platform for engineered carbon removals.

Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist (MIFID II/R and EMIR)


The Regulatory Compliance team is the first line Compliance Advisory function within EMO dedicated to supporting 8 Nasdaq Exchanges and Nasdaq Clearing with compliance advisory services for the reporting obligations in regulations such as MIFID II/R, EMIR, SFTR as well as regular and ad hoc requests from our regulators. Our team monitors regulatory change, coordinates regulatory requests, supports projects and implementations, facilitates oversight, escalates risks, issues and incidents and is the main point of contact for numerous internal and external partners. We are specialists in the regulations we work with and advise on how to improve the control environment for high-quality regulatory reporting!


Compliance Advisory Responsibilities


We primarily advise and support operational reporting teams to improve the quality of regulatory reporting to national and super-national regulators, monitor for regulatory change and work with the 2nd line functions to connect with regulators regarding data requests and issues or incidents arising.


Examples of responsibilities are:


Monitoring of regulation changes and business/product changes which impact regulatory reporting regimes

Nasdaq Clearing is seeking a highly motivated and committed Head of Sales for Fixed Income Derivatives Clearing. As Head of Sales, you will be responsible for building and maintaining effective long-term relationships to ensure high satisfaction and increase revenues by achieving sales targets. Compliance Advisory Responsibilities


We primarily advise and support operational reporting teams to improve the quality of regulatory reporting to national and super-national regulators, monitor for regulatory change and work with the 2nd line functions to connect with regulators regarding data requests and issues or incidents arising.


Examples of responsibilities are:

As part of Nasdaq Clearing's first line of defence, the Market Risk team is responsible for daily risk analysis, preparing and planning for the management of counterparty defaults and the ongoing analysis of new products and services from a risk management perspective.


The Market Risk team strives for intra-team knowledge sharing across markets and tasks, and you will have the possibility to reach in-depth proficiency in the valuation and inherent risk of all financial and commodity derivatives cleared at Nasdaq Clearing. Additionally, you will work closely with specialists from other teams in the Risk Management department (Risk Modelling, Credit Risk), Business Development, Operations, Technology and Legal from time to time.


Your role and responsibilities:


In this role, you will be following up on market and position changes, risk monitoring and issuing intra-day margin calls, primarily focusing on the Fixed Income and Equity markets. You will also:


Participate in daily market risk management involving monitoring and reporting of risk levels and limits, handling of incidents and responding to questions from various internal and external stakeholders including regulatory authorities.
Support in continually developing and improving existing processes and risk tools.
Contribute to the team’s processes for default management. Here you will plan and take part in default management exercises, which include active involvement with and exposure to clearing banks and Nasdaq Clearing’s senior management team.

We expect you to have:


Master’s Degree in Finance/Mathematics/Engineering or similar

You are a law student (jur.) or business law student (HA(jur.)) who has at least finished the second year of studies.
Experience from another relevant student worker position is preferred.
Experience with working with financial regulation is an advantage.
You have taken a course in EU law and have a basic understanding of the EU legislative process.
You have a genuine curiosity about the financial markets and interest in financial regulation.

The Trading & Member Surveillance part-time analyst will be a part of our Trading & Member Surveillance team in Stockholm. We work closely together with our surveillance and compliance teams in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and U.S. The team performs real-time and post-trade analysis of trading in all asset classes across the Nordic market places that Nasdaq operates.


Responsibilities:


Perform real-time and continuous analysis of price movements, trading volumes, trading patterns and news around listed products.
Identify suspected market abuse and other forms of breaches of rules.
Uphold orderly trading and intervene in trading when necessary and when necessary, required to assist in decisions on e.g. trading suspensions or trade cancellations.
Help market participants avoid ending up in problematic situations by providing guidance to members and others regarding our practices in different contexts and how to comply with exchange regulation.


Education, Professional accomplishments, and Certifications:


Education Required: Student in Economics, Finance or Engineering with at least 2 years left to graduation.
Basic understanding of trading and investments.
Mathematical or statistical skills and experience of handling/analyzing large quantities of data is an advantage.

The Trading and Member Surveillance team work closely together with our surveillance and compliance teams in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, United States and with our technology team in Australia. The team performs real-time and post-trade analysis of trading in all asset classes across the Nordic marketplaces that Nasdaq operates as well as membership compliance.


Your role and responsibilities


In this role, you will be participating in forming regulations and practices, make important decisions to protect investors and to uphold orderly trading. This also includes identifying and reporting suspected market abuse and other forms of breaches of rules. As Trading and Member Surveillance processes large amounts of data, you will also be working with data wrangling to detect and demonstrate potential market abuse. You will do this by analyzing alerts and manipulations over a longer period to identify patterns and trends. Therefore, experience in working with large, structured data sets using and other data wrangling/munging technologies such as suitable libraries in R and Python, is seen as a merit. You will:


Perform real-time and continuous analysis of price movements, trading volumes, trading patterns and news around listed products.
Uphold orderly trading, intervene in trading when necessary and may be required to make decisions on e.g. trading suspensions or trade cancellations.
Help market participants avoid ending up in problematic situations by providing guidance to members and others regarding our practices in different contexts and how to comply with exchange regulation.
By understanding complex patterns, you will work together with the software developers in improving the current surveillance software.
Perform review of membership applications.
Perform yearly risk assessment and membership reviews.


We expect you to have


Degree in Finance or related field.
A few years of experience from the financial markets with solid understanding of trading and investments with a strong interest in questions relating to fairness and surveillance.
Mathematical or statistical skills and shown experience of handling/analysing large quantities of data.
Modelling the ability to grasp abstract concepts and transform them to intuitive concepts that are easily measured and explained to laypersons.
Comfortable with modeling and machine learning, including e.g. regression, classification, dimension reduction and manifold learning
Highly analytical and possesses the ability to make quick decisions based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
Effectively communicates regulations and interpretations of market activity.
Excellent language skills in English, both written and spoken. Swedish is seen as merit.
