You will support all aspects of the process with emphasis on the custom probe panel design. You will also have the chance to engage in the laboratory work with tissue sections and the fluorescent microscopy and image analysis. This work will be in close collaboration with expert scientists within spatial single cell analysis and gives you the possibility to participate in high profile cutting edge biological and disease-related research projects from Pharma and academic researchers.
You have a proven track record in probe / primer design or DNA sequence analysis (NGS data processing), a solid knowledge in molecular biology, as well as a broad understanding of molecular biology techniques. This position will interact closely with colleagues across various departments in both Stockholm and San Francisco.
What you will be doing (all activities are equally important):
Probe design and probe sequence optimization
Track customer projects, samples and probe panel lists, generate and frequently update an overview document
Performing the in situ assay on tissue sections on microscope glass slides
High throughput fluorescent microscopy imaging of the processed tissue samples, and image data pre-processing
Participate in optimization and troubleshooting of assays and microscope instruments.
Maintain relevant documentation for record keeping related to the projects

To be successful, you will need:
MSc, or equivalent, in molecular biology, biochemistry or a closely related field
Probe / primer design experience or experience from NGS sequence analysis (database searches, multiple sequence alignment, etc) through commonly used bioinformatics software tools
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Programming languages: experienced in R, Python or MATLAB
Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication in English
Ability to work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment
