About the mission

Our new APSIS One platform is built from the ground up using brand new cloud-native technology and methods and APSIS aims to work at the forefront of technology and development. To achieve this, we follow modern agile practices with cross-functional DevOps teams, where each team assumes complete technical and operational ownership of their applications. This includes implementation, architectural design and tech selection, QA, continuous delivery, and technical production environment operations. We believe in small, highly skilled, highly empowered and autonomous teams taking maximal ownership of their systems. However, legacy products in our portfolio have not caught up with this and since APSIS values customer relationships highly, focus remains on providing a stellar customer experience on these products until customers can be migrated away from them.

We are therefore looking for a Senior Developer to drive the modernization of one of our legacy products and migrate business critical parts of it to modern cloud native technology. Upon completion of the project the role transitions to one of our DevOps teams to partake in development of new features for APSIS One.

Your initial responsibilities include:

- Taking a legacy product and modernizing it using modern cloud native technologies like Docker, Amazon Faregate, Amazon ECS, Amazon ELB etc.

- Take an active part in team development, knowledge sharing, and improvements to increase team velocity and developer quality of life.

- Respond to disruptions and proactively work to prevent them from occurring.

You will transition to responsibilities that include:

- Implement new features and solve engineering challenges in a modern, cloud-native, microservice-based tech stack

- Weekly rotating on-call duty, which includes additional time off

About YOU

- 5+ years years of professional development experience with a robust software engineering background

- Professional experience with PHP, My, Docker and Linux Server Management

- Proven ability to write high-performant, maintainable code

- Ability to operate in a DevOps environment

- Experience with working on CI/CD pipelines

- Interest in, and ability to work hands-on with managing your own cloud infrastructure on a daily basis

- Creative and solutions-oriented, someone who enjoys tackling big challenges and is not afraid to learn new things along the way

- Strong sense of responsibility, someone who enjoys taking ownership of your work and who prides themselves on always delivering high quality

- Collaborative mindset, ability to work as part of a very distributed development organization where many small teams need to coordinate

-
Good working knowledge in English is a must.

- You are based in Stockholm

We offer YOU

- A competitive salary package and a referral program.

- A stable and growing company with an entrepreneurial mindset where we will listen to your ideas and support you to make it happen.

- High flexibility and hybrid work is part of our DNA.

- State of the art offices with our unique co-living-co-working concept where teamwork is the norm.

- International growing opportunities and internal mobility

- Events: team lunches, after works, sport, trips

- Learning opportunities: languages, tech, product, sales techniques, leadership

We are now looking to strengthen our Audience team, who builds the core data processing and storage layers in our platform. This domain involves advanced data intensive systems engineering including managing a complex environment of AWS cloud infrastructure. It includes working with databases of many flavors, managed and self-hosted on EC2, and managing multiple distributed systems and data processing pipelines with very high demands on performance and correctness.

APSIS aims to work at the forefront of technology and development. We follow modern agile practices with cross-functional DevOps teams, where each team assumes complete technical and operational ownership of their applications, including not only implementation but full architectural design and tech selection, QA, continuous delivery, and technical production environment operations. We believe in small, highly skilled, highly empowered and autonomous teams taking maximal ownership of their systems. We believe in DevOps as a culture rather than a specialised role; but his role is geared towards mid-level software developers who would like to specialise further into cloud infrastructure and devops type work, while working as part of a DevOps team.

In a typical day this role will be working in close collaboration with team members and other similar teams in Stockholm, Malmö, Warsaw and Russia, and with the Product Owner. The team has its own backlog of stories and tasks that the team members participate in the writing and grooming and prioritisation of, and then work together to bring all the way to a fully working and scalable production deploy.

To facilitate the DevOps way of working all APSIS dev teams are granted “20% time” where the team works outside the product backlog on tasks of their own choice, among other policies.

Responsibilities

- As part of the development team, support implementation of new features and solve cloud infra and engineering challenges in a modern, cloud-native, microservice-based tech stack based on Java.
- Be part of shaping our team’s development processes, system architecture, tools and practices to increase team velocity and developer quality of life, with extra focus on CI/CD pipelines and management of the teams’ complex cloud infra.
- Support and coordinate development with other dev teams in the organisation, especially the central Cloud Engineering team, to ensure cross-team collaboration works smoothly
- Respond to disruptions and proactively work to prevent such from occurring in the first place. The position includes a weekly rotating on-call duty, which also includes additional time off.

Requirements

- 3+ years professional development experience with a robust software engineering background including professional experience from software architecture, security, and operating production systems
- Several years of experience with Java and hands-on experience with Java 11
- BS or higher from a computer science program, or equivalent professional experience
- Professional experience with using Amazon Web Services (particularly EC2, ECS, RDS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and supporting tools like IAM) and Docker in production systems
- Strong interest in working hands-on with managing AWS cloud infrastructure on a daily basis
- Creative and solutions-oriented, someone who enjoys tackling big challenges and is not afraid to learn new things along the way
- Strong sense of responsibility, someone who enjoys taking ownership of your work and who prides themselves on always delivering high quality
- Proven ability to write high-performant, maintainable code with strong elements of concurrency and complex data models
- Collaborative mindset, ability to work as part of a very distributed development organisation where many small teams need to coordinate
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code using CloudFormation

Work Description

As a Product Owner at APSIS you will report to the local Development Manager. This position is based at our office in Warsaw or Stockholm.

You will work closely with the Product Team (including CPO, UX, Product Design and Product marketing) and with Senior tech staff in our development organisation to define a Product Vision and Strategic roadmap for our new platform and its public-facing APIs.

You will also work independently within your Product domain to drive this roadmap forward, working on feature ideation and definition and identifying key initiatives to deliver on this Vision.

You will work on a daily basis with your development team and many stakeholders around the organisation to maximise the business value delivered. To do this, you will work closely with the Product team, but also need to speak to stakeholders all around the company to gather insight and knowledge about what our customers are looking for.

You possess a high level of hands-on experience with technology and SaaS products, particularly in aspects relating to integrations, API-based commercial products, User management and security. You have likely worked as a developer in some capacity and can speak and understand the language of developers and are familiar with both historical API design and on top of modern and upcoming API technologies.

You enjoy synthesizing knowledge collected both from day to day interactions with customers and stakeholders as well as industry research and best practices. You relish the opportunity to break big complex problems down into distinct user needs, and to formulate solutions and product functionality to meet these.

We are now looking to strengthen our Audience team, who builds the core data processing and storage layers in our platform.

In a typical day this role will be working in close collaboration with team members and other similar teams in Stockholm, Malmö, Warsaw and Russia, and with the Product Owner.

- Several years of experience with Java and hands-on experience with Java 11
- BS or higher from a computer science program, or equivalent professional experience

You will work closely with the Product Team (including CPO, UX, Product Design and Product marketing, and other Product Owners) and with Senior tech staff in our development organisation to define a Product Vision and Strategic roadmap for our new platform.

You possess a high level of hands-on experience with technology and SaaS products, particularly in aspects relating to CRM, ECommerce or advertising, and different forms of digital marketing and/or communications over channels like Email, Mobile (apps, push, sms), and Web. You relish the opportunity to break big complex problems down into distinct user needs, and to formulate solutions and product functionality to meet these.

You have experience working effectively with agile software development in a DevOps environment where your development team both builds and operates the product. You are a technical person who has a close familiarity with website and internet technology, some familiarity with general programming, database design, cloud native architecture, distributed systems engineering challenges, security and access controls, and related technical challenges. You are comfortable discussing such topics to a relatively detailed level with a development team or architecture team.

Key performance indicators for this role would include customer NPS scores, revenue generated, customer onboarding success rates, etc.

Typical tasks for this role will include;

- Together with Product team, create a Product Vision and Roadmap based on business cases and input gathered from commercial stakeholders and CPO, as well as market research of your own and discussion with specialist from other teams
- Work with business and development stakeholders to formulate initiatives, detail these into features as Epics and User Stories, finding all the corner cases and coming up with solutions, surfacing and clarifying questions from the dev team.
- Proactively coordinate development and launch with all necessary stakeholders from other teams, ensuring that any dependencies are managed

Responsibilities

- Work closely with the design team to improve and maintain our Editor foundation both holistically and at a component level.
- Collaborate with multiple teams across APSIS in Stockholm, Malmö, Warsaw and Rostov-on-Don to develop solutions for a variety of tools and editing contexts, used by creative professionals in multiple domains.
- Explore and investigate new ways of solving design problems with collaboration, accessibility and inclusion being at the centre.

- Take an active part in team development, knowledge sharing and improvements to increase team velocity and developer quality of life.

Requirements

- Several years of professional experience with Angular 2+, preferably including Angular 6-11 and familiarity with ngrx
- Some familiarity with AWS, Docker, Relational DBs, Document/No DBs, git
- Some familiarity with backend development in either Node + Typescript or Golang
- Interest in and ability to work with AWS cloud infrastructure on a daily basis
- Creative and solutions-oriented, someone who enjoys tackling big challenges and is not afraid to learn new things along the way
- Strong sense of responsibility, someone who enjoys taking ownership of your work and who prides themselves on always delivering high quality
- Collaborative mindset, ability to work as part of a very distributed development organisation where many small teams need to coordinate

Bonus points for

- Significant experience with user interface design for creative professionals
- Professional experience with backend/full-stack development.

- Respond to disruptions and proactively work to prevent such from occurring in the first place. The position includes a weekly rotating on-call duty, which also includes additional time off.

Your job is to use that knowledge to support our Professional Services teams with validation of customer solutions, and sometimes to take ownership of a customer solution design and implementation process yourself and lead them through the entire process, by ensuring the data they have is correctly formatted and imported into One, that any integrations are set up in a robust and future-proof manner, that their technical and business stakeholders are well introduced to how they can best use APSIS One.

Typical tasks will include:

- Pre-sales and solutions engineering support
- As the Apsis One platform sometimes calls for in-depth technical support during sales and onboarding processes. As a senior member of R&D, you can answer almost any such question -- or dig out the answer by talking to the right development teams, without disrupting their work.
- You will sometimes take lead on a customer case yourself, and work together with Sales, PS and the customer business and technical stakeholders to come up with the ideal solution for their requirements.
- This involves managing and leading workshops and meetings with both internal and customer participants, extracting the key design information, then working with PS and R&D to architect the solution
- Solution architecture
- Training & education
- Externally and internally, build knowledge about the platform and how to best use it
- Customer voice
- Bring back customer feedback and needs to our tech departments, spread awareness and understanding of customer realities in R&D

Requirements

- Architectural experience from software development or similar complex systems engineering
- Professional experience from software development at senior level, including familiarity with databases and database design, application design and development, web development, distributed systems engineering, APIs and integrations.
- Experience with customer data software systems: CRMs, Web servers and content management systems, Digital Marketing Platforms, BI and Analytics systems, etc.
- Experience with system integration in complex IT environments
- A solutions-oriented mindset, always keeping focus on how to improve and solve issues, and how to contribute personally to this
- Customer-centric thinking with the ability to act as a bridge between commercial stakeholders (sometimes even customers) and our technical organisation.
- Structured and organisational, with ability to juggle many tasks in parallel, and ability to respond to changes in priorities or pick up new tasks on the spot in an agile manner
- MSc or equivalent technical education, or equivalent work experience
- Familiarity with distributed software -- both in terms of facilitating collaboration between distributed dev teams, and distributed software architectures involving many systems and data sources
- Familiarity with cloud hosting and DevOps philosophy

At APSIS, we imagine a world where nobody gets a single spam message ever again.

Our vision is to help our customers communicate better with their users by allowing them to use their customer data more effectively. To reduce noise through better and more specific targeting; to add relevance by making each message personally tailored; to send the right message on the right channel at the right time and nothing else, so that we as consumers get a better experience in our inboxes.

Our new APSIS One platform is built from the ground up using all new technology. We follow modern software development best practices with cross-functional dev teams, where each team takes complete ownership of their applications, including design, implementation, QA, continuous delivery, and technical operations over the entire application lifecycle. We are now looking to complement our teams with Product Owners who can help turn our grand ambitions into workable backlogs together with our development teams.

The Role

As a Product Owner at APSIS you will report to CTO/CPO.

The Company and Vision
At APSIS, we imagine a world where nobody gets a single spam message ever again.
Our vision is to help our customers communicate better with their users by allowing them to use their customer data more effectively. To reduce noise through better and more specific targeting; to add relevance by making each message personally tailored; to send the right message on the right channel at the right time and nothing else, so that we as consumers get a better experience in our inboxes.
For this we are building a next-generation platform that aims to find the sweet spot between a Customer Data Platform (CDP) and a full-featured Marketing Platform. We call it APSIS One.
To get maximum value from APSIS One, our customers often need to integrate their own systems, or other 3rd party systems, with ours. A lot of high-impact decisions on how that is done are taken early in the customer’s lifecycle. To ensure the best possible usage of our platform we offer customers support during this process, primarily through our consulting department; but in particularly complex cases we engage our most experienced Solution Architects, who are part of the development organisation.
The Role
As a Solution Architect at APSIS R&D, you are one of the most senior members of our development organisation and you will know the APSIS One platform as well as anyone in the company.
Typical tasks will include
Pre-sales and solutions engineering support
As the Apsis One platform sometimes calls for in-depth technical support during sales and onboarding processes. As a senior member of R&D, you can answer almost any such question -- or dig out the answer by talking to the right development teams, without disrupting their work.
Solution architecture
You will sometimes take lead on a customer case yourself, and work together with Sales, PS and the customer business and technical stakeholders to come up with the ideal solution for their requirements.
This involves managing and leading workshops and meetings with both internal and customer participants, extracting the key design information, then working with PS and R&D to architect the solution
Training & education
Externally and internally, build knowledge about the platform and how to best use it
Customer voice
Bring back customer feedback and needs to our tech departments, spread awareness and understanding of customer realities in R&D.

The requirements
To succeed in this role, having the right personality is key. The role will require
Architectural experience from software development or similar complex systems engineering
Professional experience from software development at senior level, including familiarity with databases and database design, application design and development, web development, distributed systems engineering, APIs and integrations.
Experience with customer data software systems: CRMs, Web servers and content management systems, Digital Marketing Platforms, BI and Analytics systems, etc.
Experience with system integration in complex IT environments
A solutions-oriented mindset, always keeping focus on how to improve and solve issues, and how to contribute personally to this
Customer-centric thinking with the ability to act as a bridge between commercial stakeholders (sometimes even customers) and our technical organisation.
Structured and organisational, with ability to juggle many tasks in parallel, and ability to respond to changes in priorities or pick up new tasks on the spot in an agile manner
MSc or equivalent technical education, or equivalent work experience
Familiarity with distributed software -- both in terms of facilitating collaboration between distributed dev teams, and distributed software architectures involving many systems and data sources
Familiarity with cloud hosting and DevOps philosophy

APSIS and our vision

APSIS, we imagine a world where nobody gets a single spam message ever again.
Our vision is to help our customers communicate better with their users by allowing them to use their data more effectively. To reduce noise through better and more specific targeting; to add relevance by making each message personally tailored; to send the right message on the right channel at the right time and nothing else, so that we as consumers get a better experience in our inboxes.

The role

Our new APSIS One platform is built from the ground up using brand new cloud-native technology and methods. We are now looking to strengthen our Audience team, who builds the core data processing and storage layers in our platform. It involves advanced data intensive systems engineering, working with databases of many flavors, distributed systems and data processing pipelines, with very high demands on performance and correctness.

In a typical day this role will be working as part of our Audience team, working in close collaboration with their team members and other similar teams in Stockholm, Malmö, Warsaw and Russia, and with their Product Owner. The team has its own backlog of stories and tasks that the developers participate in the writing and grooming and prioritisation of, and then work together to bring all the way to production deploy. Apsis dev teams also have “20% time” where the team works outside the product backlog on tasks of their own choice.

Responsibilities
As part of the development team, implement new features and solve engineering challenges in a modern, cloud-native, microservice-based tech stack.
Be part of shaping our team’s development processes, system architecture, tools and practices to increase team velocity and developer quality of life.
Support and coordinate development with other dev teams in the organisation to ensure cross-team collaboration works smoothly
Respond to disruptions and proactively work to prevent such from occurring in the first place. The position includes a weekly rotating on-call duty, which also includes additional time off.

Key qualifications

APSIS and our vision
At APSIS, we imagine a world where nobody gets a single spam message ever again.
Our vision is to help our customers communicate better with their users by allowing them to use their customer data more effectively. To reduce noise through better and more specific targeting; to add relevance by making each message personally tailored; to send the right message on the right channel at the right time and nothing else, so that we as consumers get a better experience in our inboxes.

The role
Our new APSIS One platform is built from the ground up using brand new cloud-native technology and methods.
In a typical day this role will be working as part of such a team, working in close collaboration with their team members and other similar teams in Stockholm, Malmö, Warsaw and Russia, and with their Product Owner.
