About the INTEGRATE project
The INTEGRATE project focuses on the theoretical, algorithmic, and architectural foundations of integrated communication and sensing networks, developing the first open access network-level simulator for joint communication and sensing.
Position title: RNP-1 - Ray-tracing simulation environment for RHS-based integrated communication and sensing networks.
Research project: This project aims at developing new ray-tracing modules able to account for the presence of RHSs.
Objectives: Develop a new ray tracing module that accounts for the presence of RHS-based transceivers in large-scale networks.
PhD enrolment: The selected applicant will be enrolled into a Ph.D. program at University of Paris-Saclay, France, while working to the project.

KTH:s enhet för digitalt lärande är den plats där forskning och beprövad erfarenhet om digitala medier och lärande möts.

Vi utvecklar kunskap och designar digitala plattformar, nätbaserade kurser och video som stöd för utbildning och lärande. Vid enheten bedrivs forskning och utveckling (FoU) samt utbildning och handledning.

Vi söker en pedagogisk utvecklare som kommer att leda och/eller delta i utvecklings- och forskningsprojekt med inriktning mot digitalt lärande, med särskilt fokus på utvecklingsprojekt inom examination i digitala utbildningsmiljöer. Då digitalt lärande blivit ett snabbt växande och prioriterat område vid KTH genomförs många olika projekt. Som pedagogisk utvecklare kommer du också att delta i kravställandet av KTH:s digitala utbildningsmiljöer utifrån ett pedagogiskt perspektiv. In this position you will be responsible for design of converters in the field of power electronics with special focus on DC-DC, AC-DC, DC-AC converters for applications such as Rectifier, Server, EV, Charger and Modules, etc. The work includes analysis and experimental work in our lab environment.


Key responsibilities


Work with internal customers to identify and define system requirements and needs to establish key technical competences for Huawei’s future products and solutions.
Lead and execute the R&D project for novel power converter system architecture and topology focusing on Lowand medium-power products such as Rectifier, Server, EV, Charger and Power Modules.
Lead the design and subsequent test and verification activities of power converter systems in the R&D laboratories.
Work with external R&D institutes and Universities on collaboration projects for developing novel high power converter and associated control algorithms for relevant applications of Huawei Digital Power Product Line.
Documentation of R&D activities and results.
Participate international conferences/exhibitions of power electronics community representing Huawei for external communications.
Occasionally travelling to Huawei China for internal communications and cooperation.



Requirements:


PhD degree in power electronics / electrical and electronic engineering (or similar) field with 3+ years’ experience.
Proven track record of experiences and expertise in development of Low-medium voltage high power electronic converter systems and deep knowledge of their topologies, modulation and control algorithm.
Good theoretical understanding of basic power electronic converter principles, semiconductor devices.
Highly interested in innovative solutions and technologies and proven experiences in technical leadership of R&D activities, and highly appreciated the experience of various topology families.
High level of self-reliance and an autonomous target-oriented work style. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability and willing to learn new knowledge and assume new responsibilities.
Professional working proficiency of in English, and prior experience from international and multicultural work is preferred.

The three major 5G services, eMBB, uRLLC, and mMTC, pose great challenges to baseband processing. The computing power needs to be improved by 100 times, the latency is shortened from 10 ms to 0.05 ms, and the energy efficiency is improved by 50 times.
Baseband computing evolves from "decades" to "hundreds" and is entering the "thousand-core era". The baseband processor is evolving from vector to wide vector processing and is evolving to ultra-wide vector and even tensor. The baseband computing architecture also evolves from heterogeneous acceleration to Baseband Domain-Specific Architecture.
We need experts with extensive experience in computer architecture to help achieve this challenge.
Responsibilities
Design the heterogeneous parallel system and explore the future 5G/6G heterogeneous parallel system framework to achieve extremely energy efficiency, flexible combination, and extremely low latency.
To meet future requirements for low latency and flexibility in multiple scenarios, make breakthroughs in the baseband system's key technologies based on the evolution trend of the SOC and Core microarchitectures, and take responsibility for the competitiveness of the baseband system.

Qualifications and experience
Target Students. Students who graduated in 2020/2021 and for excellent PhDs, it can be extended to 2019.
Have an in-depth understanding of cutting-edge heterogeneous computing and be familiar with hardware architecture principles such as CPU, GPU, and ARM. Experience n HPC development, optimization, and algorithm design are preferred.
Know embedded SW and hands-on skills in block design with Verilog/VHDL. C++ or SystemC experience is strongly required.
Knowledge of RTL design and verification processes, time sequence closure, ASIC/FPGA/CGRA integrated technologies is preferred.

Key qualifications:

Proven academic or industrial research experience in PA technologies for wireless applications.
Good mathematical skills and microwave circuit theory and their application to power amplifiers, and capable of analyzing new PA architectures as well as other microwave modules and accurately transferring circuit models to physical implementation.
Solid knowledge on integration, packaging, and assembly processes for power amplifiers operating at both sub-6 GHz and millimeter-wave frequency bands is highly appreciated.
Hands-on experience in heterogeneously and/or monolithically (MMIC) integrated sub-6 GHz and/or millimeter-wave PA design, modeling, simulations, and characterizations is a must.
Good knowledge of industry standard microwave circuit and electromagnetic wave simulation software.
Familiar with various RF measurement instruments, e.g. vector network analyzers (VNAs), signal analyzers, vector signal generators, oscilloscopes, etc. Skills in developing and optimizing measurement techniques for accurately characterizing both passive and active devices.
Prior experience in developing non-linear device models is an advantage.
Good communication, documentation, presentation skills in written and spoken English.
