The quest
We are well on our way with our current title ALARA Prime (https://www.youtube.com/c/ALARAPrime), which was revealed (pre-alpha) just this July!

Together with our other Technical Artists and Lead, you will continue to improve processes to ease production for the creatives and the technical teams. You will also work together with the art teams to create shaders and support the material pipeline. The entire organization will be your close friends to collaborate with. Your task will be to translate what the artists are dreaming of and make it playable in the engine.

We think that you have a background in 3D, graphics, and shaders as well as a programming interest

The quest

You'll be part of our code crew (12 peers) but collaborate cross-functionally with people from different crafts, primarily art and design. Together with our current three experienced UI Programmers you will create and improve the player-facing aspects of our upcoming competitive FPS. Including everything from HUDs and menus to in-world visualizations, and surrounding systems such as systems connected to social play and persistence.

As a senior member of our crew, we also expect you to be proactive and use your previous experiences to question our current way of working with UI. As part of your daily job, you will give your input on UI/UX design. We also expect that you mentor and guide others when needed.

You'll be part of our Code squad (10 peers) and together you will refine the feel and tactical importance of core gameplay elements, as well as develop a broader set of gameplay elements that integrate seamlessly with the existing core.

In this role, you'll collaborate with your peers in the Code team as well as with members from other crafts to find creative solutions to gameplay-related problems. There will probably always be more than one alternative to the solutions we're building and the connected discussions regarding "how" and "why" we build those solutions, are something you enjoy diving into.

You'll be part of our Code squad (10 peers) and together you will refine the feel and tactical importance of core gameplay elements, as well as develop a broader set of gameplay elements that integrate seamlessly with the existing gameplay core.

This role involves a bit of traditional IT systems administration and user support. Onboarding of new people, helping technically-minded people with technical problems - particularly with license handling and driver/hardware issues.

Commonly used tools: Windows/Linux OS, Visual Studio, Git, Plastic SCM, Maya, Photoshop, Unreal Editor.
It also involves running internal services. We avoid physical machinery if possible; we rely on a combination of SaaS and self-hosted services. Examples: Google Workspace, Azure AD, Slack, Discord, Confluence, Jira, GitHub, Plastic SCM, Jenkins, Sentry.
There is an office with a limited physical infrastructure to manage. All our tools are set up to support work-from-home as well as from the office.

Over time, you should aim to automate ops for all self-hosted services. Physical machines => VMs => Docker => Kubernetes. Contemporary tooling and strategies like CI, CD and GitOps are vital for running internal services effectively. Commonly used tools: GitHub/GitHub Actions, Terraform, Packer, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform.

The quest


You'll be part of our code crew (12 peers) but collaborate cross-functionally with people from different crafts, primarily art and design. Together with our current two experienced UI Programmers you will create and improve the player-facing aspects of our upcoming competitive FPS. Including everything from HUDs and menus, to in-world visualizations, and surrounding systems such as systems connected to social play and persistence.

As a senior member of our crew, we also expect you to be proactive and use your previous experiences to question our current way of working with UI. As part of your daily job you will give your input on UI/UX design. We also expect that you mentor and guide others when needed.
