The mission: why this role exists
This is not a maintenance role. We are hiring a proactive Senior Data Engineer to lead the fundamental redesign and rebuild of our data foundations.
You don't wait for tickets. You actively seek out problems, identify structural weaknesses, propose solutions, and get buy-in to execute them. You will have the opportunity to shape our data platform with full ownership.
Your mission is to transform our data landscape into a reliable, scalable, and well-governed asset. You will be empowered to establish sustainable practices, dramatically improve data quality, and build the platform that enables analysts, product managers, and business leaders to self-serve with confidence.
What you'll be responsible for
Your primary goal is to build a data platform that is scalable, trustworthy, and discoverable.
Data Architecture & Modeling: You will lead the architectural design and hands-on implementation of our new data model in Snowflake. You will refine and build clear, logical data layers, whilst resolving critical data model complexities.
Data Governance & Operations: Establish and enforce robust data governance practices from the ground up. Implement clear naming conventions, scalable role management, and a formal review process for all data engineering changes.
Data Quality & Discoverability: You will be responsible for making data discoverable. Implement a comprehensive data quality and testing framework within dbt, moving us to a state of high trust and reliability.



What we're looking for
Proven Experience: You have significant experience as a Data Engineer, with specific, hands-on success in designing and rebuilding a data warehouse/platform from a complex or legacy state.
Technical Expertise:
dbt: Expert-level proficiency. You live and breathe dbt, understand its best practices, and have used it to build and test complex data models.
Snowflake: Deep knowledge of Snowflake architecture, data modeling best practices, and performance optimization.
ELT & Orchestration: Experience with modern ELT tools (like Airbyte, Fivetran) and orchestration platforms.
Governance Champion: You have strong opinions, informed by experience, on data governance, data quality, and robust engineering practices.
Strong Collaborator: You have excellent communication skills and are comfortable setting requirements and collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Primarily from our Stockholm office, with occasional travel to our locations in the UK, Greece, and soon additional markets as we continue to grow.

Requirements
You are a senior, driven back-end or full-stack developer with strong programming and design ability, as well as an eye for performance, reliability and scalability, with experience from:

At least 3 years of developing Node.js applications.
A modern backend framework (Node.js, .NET core, JAVA). Knowledge of Node.js is preferred since our backend uses this technology.
Working within an agile software development organization.
Writing self-documented as well as clean and readable code with adequate test coverage.
Working extensively with REST standards.
Communication and collaboration in a professional workspace.



Nice to have:
Strong knowledge of relational or non-relational database systems.
Experience with API documentation (Swagger/Open API).
Experience in TDD and other testing practices.
Contributed to open-source projects.
University and/or Postgraduate Degree in the field of Computer Science or related field of studies.

What is the challenge?
Below are some of the things we think you will be spending time on when joining our team:


Design, manage, implement and iterate on digital acquisition marketing strategies. 
Manage monthly marketing spend by analysing data, making sure money is well spent.
Always one step ahead, being proactive and coming up with recommendations on how to improve our user growth across our digital marketing channels.
Develop our agency relationships by setting goals, providing media assets, performance feedback, and managing budgets.
Manage creative assets, ads, and landing page testing schedules to drive improved campaign results.
Work with our product team to make sure that growth is built in the product. Making sure that user experience and onboarding is frictionless and make recommendations on how to improve conversion rates in the onboarding process of new customers.



Who are you?
We think you love numbers and have strong analytical mindset as well as a great interest in marketing. Some previous work experience in digital user acquisition is a must. Having worked with many different platforms such as Google Analytics and Facebook's paid advertising platform will of course be essential to be successful in this role as well as strong written and oral communication skills both in Swedish and English. 
We would like you to have at least a B.Sc. degree, preferably in marketing, mathematics or other relevant field.

We would like to find someone who is interested in taking on the responsibility for the design and user experience of our products and services in both Sweden and Finland and soon more markets. Products and services that are already being used by thousands of people! You will play a vital part in designing and building out the product and services to create an amazing user experience for all our customers. 
What is the challenge?
We launched our first product 2018, a realtime credit for people to solve their cash flow ups ‘n downs in a fast, transparent and simple way. By having the power to amortize freely, postpone, top up, change or end the credit, users can adjust and form the credit to their unique lifestyle - all this of course with no fees, simply because its fair. This is just the beginning. We think you will inspire us to create products and services that are something out of the ordinary, pushing the boundaries for what is possible from a design perspective. 
When joining our team, you will get the chance to lead the work of the design and user experience so we can deliver on our promise to create financial services that are truly fair. You will be working in close collaboration with our product owner to be involved in everything from discussing long term strategy for our products and services to being hands-on and produce sketches and wireframes for the daily development work.
Who are you?
We think you are a person with a “can-do”-attitude, who enjoys both strategic and hands-on work (we are a start-up after all). Ideally you have some years of experience both working with UI and UX, however if you don't have much UX experience you should have a strong interest in learning and developing these skills. It's a major plus if you have worked with digital products (app/webb) before and that you are eager to develop and learn together with the rest of our team.
