About the role:
Design Manager is responsible for the entire design process of the project, planning and monitoring of completing each design package on time, within budget (compare work estimate with actual cost) according to required quality.
The Design Manager will mainly focus on scope of design works, review-internal approval-submission-client approval, and responsible for handover all design documents related in the pre-inspection and final inspection, submission of as-built documents.
Design manager is the head of the design team inhouse, management consultant resource in CRTG head quarter and external design partner. The role will be one of the key management team in the project team.

Design Planning
Specify the design work scope of the contract together with client.
Clarify the package of different design task.
Finalize the general design schedule together with Planner.
Finalize the agreement with each design consultant together with Procurement manager.
Set up the project inhouse design team together with Project manager and HR manager.
Responsible for the detail design schedule, such as pre-design, detailed design, design review, approve process, interdependency with contract schedule and production schedule.
Plan, host and conduct regular internal and external meetings regarding design scope, requirements, schedule, budget, cost, review, approval, etc.
Management of Design Works
Setting up the design risk management system, proper solution to handle design risk.
Setting up the design quality management system, make sure design quality is according to the law, standards and specification indicated in the contract with client.
Budget plan of design works, cost control of structures designed, together with project Cost controller.
Collect the concept, comments, suggestions, find solution to get qualified, high constructability, time saving, cost saving design schemes.
Manage and coordinate with consultants, clients, third party reviewer, finalize the design submission, and get approval of each package stage by stage following the design schedule.
Feedback with comments with suggestions from site team, updated the design works finalize the as-built design accordingly, together with the production team.
Find efficient solution to execute the works on site together with the production team.
Notifying the clients of events related with design works that are significant important such as impact on scope, quality, time, and cost together with Contract manager.
Support Contract manager for notifying the clients of changed circumstances, such as scope changes, specification changes, delay of review and approval process from client.
Reviewing the works from consultant, ÄTA works, control the design progress and product delivered.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
University education: Relevant Master or Bachelor degree.
Strong insights of the construction market as well as in-depth network of civil engineering industry.
Minimum 10 years work experience in design and design management works, key experience in rail comprising underground structures, tunnels, and metro station buildings.
Familiar with ABT06, AMA Anläggning.
Experienced with related specification such as TRVK Bro 11, TK Geo 13 BFS 2013: 10 EKS 9, SS, SS-EN, EN, and safety requirements.
Experienced with design software, BIM etc.
BAS-P (Building Working Environment Coordinator for Planning and Design) competence.
Proficient with MS OFFICE and design management software.
Working knowledge of residential construction methods, techniques, and systems; and building codes.
Driving license.
Skills:
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to perform and work under tight schedules plus high pressure.
Excellent of both spoken & written Swedish and English.
