We are nine full-time employees (5 women, 4 men) today, eagerly awaiting our number ten! About the positionIn our strive to revolutionize these research fields, we are strengthening our team with an Application Scientist, preferably with a strong background in microbiology or cell metabolism. This is a temporary position for one year to cover for parental leave, but with the goal and opportunity of permanent employment to follow.The overall responsibility will be to perform primary data analysis, cell metabolic experiments, internal and external application development as well as work closely with potential customers and partners to assist in sales and marketing activities. You will use your technical and scientific knowledge to educate and enthuse research groups, both within academia and in pharma/biotech companies. The role involves travelling in terms of visiting potential customer labs, exhibiting at conferences and organizing demos.In the applications team, we both develop new applications by ourselves as well as learn together with our customers how our tools can help solve scientific problems. We have a larger focus on bacterial applications, especially within biofilm formation and susceptibility testing. About youWe believe that you have a strong background in microbiology, preferably with experimental expertise in antimicrobial sensitivity testing, biofilm models, microbial metabolism, fungal assays or eukaryotic – prokaryotic infection assays. We also believe you are flexible as a person and can adapt to the rapid changes and demands inherit to the nature of a start-up company. You want to combine science and business and make new research possible with the solutions we bring to scientists.Requirements· PhD in Medical Sciences, preferably with a large focus within microbiology· Extensive laboratory experience · Analytical mindset · Critical-thinking, problem-solving and time-management skills· Goal-driven and proactive personality· Able to travel 4-5 days on a monthly basis· Professional level English, spoken and written· Excellent interpersonal skillsMeriting:· Previous industry experience as a field application scientist, lab scientist or with development of diagnostic assays · Extensive work with different types of cell-based assays· Previous work with bacteria and microbiological methods· Previous work within cell metabolism or calorimetry methods· Postdoctoral research experience · Data analysis skills (R, phyton, ) What we offerYou will learn new experimental and analytical tools, apply science in a company setting and most importantly help develop completely new applications with our novel tools in a highly creative environment.
