Few people are aware of the fact that 8 out of 10 Swedes have tried shopping online from abroad even though consumers today face many hurdles when shopping cross-border. This is one of the factors explaining why currently only 25% of the total e-commerce purchase volume stems from cross-border transactions. At Panprices, we aim to tackle this untapped market by creating a hybrid marketplace that enables consumers to discover products, compare prices from retailers all across Europe, and check out directly at up to 25% cheaper than in Sweden.
Panprices is a funded startup initially incubated by Sting and Stockholm School of Economics Business Lab and now backed by some of Sweden's largest private investors with experience as founders and early investors in Fyndiq, Tradera (acquired by eBay), Home24, Payson, and DoubleClick ( acquired by Google).

We are a strong founding team who between us have scaled startups to a combined value of over a quarter billion dollars. Tom Dickson was a founding team member of the Swedish consumer internet phenomenon Kivra. Don Truong previously co-founded an e-learning platform that he scaled to the top 4 globally in its segment. Nathalie Minder has a background in the music industry where she worked with some of the biggest artists of our time and helped many of them reach platinum status. Panprices' fourth co-founder and Chairman of the Board Magnus Agervald co-founded and sold Icomera, which reached a revenue of $ 50M, and later served as the CEO of Byggmax, Ratos, and Webhallen.

OUR TECHNOLOGY
Once a consumer searches for a product in our React PWA we fan-out the query via our message broker on Google Cloud to our offer-fetching python services. The results are then enriched and presented to the client via the Firebase Realtime Database. The offers also get persisted in Postgre where we store a number of other supporting data sets. The data in the Postgres database, as well as integrations to payment providers, are exposed to the client via an API written in Go.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are now looking for a full-time backend engineer who will join our tech team and play a key role in building out our product to reach the mass market. We see that you have:
An engineering degree in computer since or the equivalent practical experiences.
Solid problem-solving skills and at least some experience working on medium-sized codebases from past internships or jobs, school, or side-projects.
Proficiency in Python, Postgre, Golang. Having experience working with Google Cloud is a plus.
Excellent English communication skills, especially speaking. We will analyze problems and collaborate with you on almost a daily basis and hence language is of critical importance.
Proven problem-solving skills where the emphasis is on product value and speed.
Knowledge of core web technology concepts.
Having a startup / entrepreneurial spirit is a plus.

At Panprices, we aim to tackle this untapped market by creating a hybrid marketplace that enables consumers to discover products, compare prices, and buy what they are looking for up to 50% cheaper than in their local country.
Panprices is a funded startup initially incubated by Sting and Stockholm School of Economics Business Lab and now backed by some of Sweden’s largest private investors with experience as founders and/or early investors in Fyndiq, Tradera (acquired by eBay), Home24, Payson, and DoubleClick (acquired by Google).
We are now looking to hire a senior remote back-end engineer who will be absolutely instrumental in transforming our initial niche product to a broad service catered to help thousands of consumers daily.


WHO WE ARE
We are a team of experienced entrepreneurs and techies who have founded multiple previous startups. Tom Dickson was a founding team member of Kivra. Don Truong previously co-founded an e-learning platform that he scaled to the top 4 globally in its segment. Nathalie Minder has a background in the music industry where she worked with some of the biggest artists of our time and helped them reach platinum-selling status. Panprices fourth co-founder and Chairman of the Board Magnus Agervald co-founded and sold Icomera, which reached a revenue of half a billion and later served as the CEO of Byggmax, Ratos, and Webhallen.

OUR TECHNOLOGY
Once a consumer searches for a product in our React PWA we fan-out the query via our message broker on Google Cloud to our offer-fetching python services. The results are then enriched and presented to the client via the Firebase Realtime Database. The offers also get persisted in Postgre where we store a number of other supporting data sets. The data in the Postgres database, as well as integrations to payment providers, are exposed to the client via an API written in Go.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are now looking for a full-time backend engineer who will join our tech team and play a key role in building out our product to reach the mass market. We see that you have:
An engineering degree in computer since or the equivalent practical experiences.
Solid problem-solving skills and at least some experience working on medium-sized codebases from past internships or jobs, school, or side-projects.
Proficiency in Python, Postgre, Golang. Having experience working with Google Cloud is a plus.
Excellent English communication skills, especially speaking. We will analyze problems and collaborate with you on almost a daily basis and hence language is of critical importance.
Proven problem-solving skills where the emphasis is on product value and speed.
Knowledge of core web technology concepts.
Having a startup / entrepreneurial spirit is a plus.

Native Swedish speaker!
Fluent in English. More (Nordic) languages are a plus!

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING WITH
You will join our customer success & sales team with the #1 priority to convert interested users into customers, support our customers from pre- to post-purchase, handle the order fulfilment, and ensure that the customer is happy in the end. Your tasks entail the following:
Managing the communication with customers and retailers during purchase and post-purchase and proactively following up on order status.
Being the customers #1 point of contact with Panprices. Responding to all customer inquiries to ensure great customer experience and convert interest into sales.
Keeping our customer database and order management system up to date, stay on top of all orders, and tackle other administrative and operational tasks.
Optimizing processes and implementing efficient tools to manage orders and communication with customers.

With Panprices having succeeded in the initial niche segment and secured funding, we are now looking for you - an exceptionally strong engineer - who will play a key role in designing and building out our product to reach the mass market. We think that you have at least 2 years of professional experience. During these years you have excelled in both the technical aspects of your career as well as having helped create a conducive environment for your fellow engineers to work in. You might also have built a workflow or two with a message broker. We believe that our main challenge ahead lies in the backend but we think your architectural skills are up for challenges on the frontend as well.
