We are looking for an experienced Chemical Process Engineer with a strong background in silicon and/or silane production technologies to join GREEN14 and help revolutionize sustainable silicon production through hydrogen plasma technology.
At GREEN14, we are developing cutting-edge technology to produce high-purity silicon, an essential material for solar cells, semiconductors, and next-generation battery anodes. As part of our Process Engineering team, you will play a key role in scaling up and industrializing our silicon production process from pilot to factory-scale, ensuring successful technology implementation and optimization.
Key Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
Lead process design, scale-up, and industrialization of silicon production, including handling and purification systems.
Collaborate with R&D engineers, equipment suppliers, engineering contractors, and production teams to ensure smooth integration of the technology into full-scale production.
Lead vendor selection processes, including technical evaluations, inspections, FATs, and SATs for equipment related to silicon production.
Ensure all chemical processes conform to safety, environmental, and technical requirements, with a strong focus on process safety and risk assessments (HAZOP, SIL).
Develop and review technical documentation, including process diagrams, equipment specifications, and commissioning plans.
Lead commissioning and start-up activities for silicon production lines, ensuring efficient handover to the operations team.
Drive systematic problem-solving initiatives and establish best practices for continuous improvement in silicon production processes.
Implement best-in-class safety, environmental, and quality standards for silicon production under pressurized and inert conditions, ensuring compliance with ATEX and the Pressurised Equipment Directive.



Preferred Skills:
Strong experience in gas separation and purification or silane (MCS, STC, TCS) production or utilization.
Experience in polysilicon production, particularly with CVD reactors or Siemens process.
Familiarity with Fluidized Bed Reactor (FBR) technology and hydrochlorination for silane production.
Expertise in Czochralski crystal growth or Float Zone processing for semiconductor-grade silicon.
Familiarity with waste valorization and materials purification in silicon production.
Knowledge of automation and AI-driven process control in chemical or materials production, with experience optimizing complex chemical processes.
Experience in semiconductor-grade silicon quality control, metrology, and characterization techniques.
Advanced understanding of gas handling systems and safety protocols for pyrophoric gases under ATEX guidelines.



What We’re Looking For:
5+ years of industrial process engineering experience, ideally in the production and utilization of silicon or silane (MCS, STC, TCS).
Degree in Chemical Engineering or a similar field.
Experience in the design and scale-up of chemical production facilities (brownfield/greenfield), especially in silicon production or gas handling systems.
Strong knowledge of chemical reactors, scrubbers, material handling, and equipment commissioning.

Role Summary:
We are on the lookout for an experienced Plasma-CFD Engineer with expertise in high-speed and high-temperature plasma, as well as multiphase gas flow modeling. The ideal candidate will be proficient in COMSOL Multiphysics or similar CFD software suites, with a strong background in plasma physics and engineering. This role is critical to modeling and optimizing the dynamics of plasma flows within our reactor designs, ensuring the highest efficiency and purity in our silicon production processes.
