We are looking for a Trainee - Underwriter to our Stockholm Office
Opportunity
Learn country nuances by engaging with brokers across all Chubb Easy products and countries allowed by your language capabilities.
Fast track your cross-country knowledge and understanding of underwriting principles across all Chubb Easy products, providing an excellent grounding in P&C.
Subject to a reasonable score in the curriculum obtain underwriting authority in at least one line of business, preferably two.
The position reports directly to the Team Manager in Country and retains a relationship with the hosting Manager.
Responsibilities
Assisting to all tasks related to Underwriting, evaluating and pricing of risks in accordance with Chubb guidelines and underwriting authority.
Work closely with underwriting and sales teams based in conjunction with Underwriting Centre to ensure portfolio sustainability, promote our offering and exploit cross-selling opportunities.
Review and adapt underwriting offers with the experienced underwriters and assist contract negotiations with brokers when necessary.
Ensure effective management of policies throughout their life cycle.
Cooperate with internal departments such as; Operations, Claims, Small and Middle Market Segments leaders.
Support all developments necessary to achieve our business strategies.
Support the Chubb Easy email in-box, telephony and market facing platforms so that we provide the best possible service to our brokers. Visa mindre

The overall goal is to manage the Nordic Tech Lines portfolio and executing Tech Lines Nordics Strategy
The role is to;
- Define the Nordic Tech Lines Strategy and Action Plan for Construction, Erection, Civils, , Completed Civil risks, Boiler & Machinery as well as Construction Plant Equipment.
- Underwrite the risks in the portfolio and provide strategic underwriting direction for peers and others involved.
- Produce a profit and to set and achieve the financial goals for the portfolio across the product line across all Nordic countries in accordance with the business plan.
- To ensure underwriting integrity through appropriate deployment of underwriting guidelines and controls, consistency of approach towards risk selection, pricing and use of capacity whilst recognising market conditions.
- Manage the recruitment and appraisal process to ensure adequate and appropriately skilled and experienced staff within the team, as appropriate .
Financial Goals. To assist in the financial planning for the Line of Business and ensuring that the goals and requirements as set out in the business plan are achieved. To deliver underwriting profit and meet financial targets as defined in business plan including new business, retention, pricing, loss ratio and business mix.
Portfolio Integrity. To manage portfolio, develop and maintain underwriting integrity by ensuring effective communication throughout all countries to ensure responsiveness to changing business environment. To ensure quality control of the product line by undertaking quantitative underwriting reviews, running regular management meetings.
Producer Management. To manage and support direct reports, as appropriate, to achieve business strategies. Engage with Segment Leaders and country BDM’s to ensure the Product line strategies are well known internally & externally. Support producer management initiatives with key brokers, strategic partners and core broker panel in line with plan.
Leadership Management Provide direction and leadership of the Tech Lines team as this is gradually built up. Currently no direct reports. Lead by example. Coach, support and mentor underwriters within team.
Procedures. To review, develop and implement procedures to maximise operational effectiveness and update underwriting guidelines. To oversee peer review process to ensure risks are written within guidelines or are forwarded for exception reports. To enforce regulatory and internal requirements as to workflow, control and monitoring.
Operational Management. To develop and implement business plans for direct reports. To define underwriting authority levels. To allocate resources to meet business objectives. To ensure the PMP process is adhered. To define roles for employees, manage and review performance of direct reports and to provide appropriate training/ mentoring support. To manage a team of appropriately skilled and experienced underwriters.
Chubb Representative. To represent and promote Chubb and maintain a permanent contact with internal colleagues and clients as well as major domestic and middle market clients at the highest level.
Maintain a significant involvement in major and high profile accounts, developing also a consistent strategy in the middle market segment and solving the underwriting issues.
To work within the framework of Chubb ethical and service standards
· MsC or magistrate degree or relevant equivalent in relevant Engineering or Business Administration is a requirement.
· Relevant insurance education
· +10 years of relevant industry experience in equivalent line of business required.

· Expert understanding and working knowledge of specialist product line, the insurance market and competitors.
· Solid experience of dealing with brokers and clients. Results driven with ability to make own decisions and work on own initiative.
· A highly experienced professional who has a strong external and internal reputation.
