Duties:
The incumbent is responsible for providing services to enhance the Government of Canada’s operational and physical security planning as well as emergency management, preparedness, and resilience in Sweden.
The incumbent will research and analyze the security environment in Sweden; advise on and coordinate work related to operational security matters; conduct research, draft reports and advise the Readiness Manager and other staff on issues affecting the safety and security of staff, dependents, information, assets and operations in Sweden; develop an extensive network of contacts, liaise with a wide range of local authorities and others who provide security and emergency services, and with counterparts in other organizations; assist in the management of a locally-contracted guard force; coordinate background checks on Staff and contractors; deliver routine group and individual security briefings; develop, implement and deliver operational security measures; assist with the day-to-day management of the program budget and contracting; contribute to emergency management activities and business continuity planning, including providing support for consular related emergency management services to assist Canadians abroad; and perform other duties as required.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet each of these essential qualifications. Language will be assessed further during the process.
Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution in the area of security, logistics, emergency/crisis management, political risk-management or operations management (other related areas of study may be considered) OR a combination of relevant education, training and experience in the field of security, logistics, emergency/crisis management, political risk and security awareness.
Language: Advanced English (oral and written) and Swedish (oral and written)
The employee understands verbal and written information containing complex details, inferences and fine points of meaning, including specialized or less familiar content; writes texts and verbally describes ideas that are developed and presented in a coherent manner; uses oral and written vocabulary and grammar, as well as spelling, that are generally appropriate and require few corrections; gives clear, detailed descriptions of complex topics and can easily summarize a discussion and express and sustain opinions, both in writing and orally; and can respond to complex and hypothetical questions, both in writing and orally.
Experience: minimum of two (2) years of direct and relevant experience in the field of Security and Emergency Management which may include, but is not limited to:
- Developing and implementing security and/or emergency management operating procedures, processes, best practices and guidelines;
- Researching and analyzing complex security and/or emergency management information, identifying gaps, and providing appropriate advice and recommendations to Management;
- Developing and providing security and/or emergency management briefings and/or training;
- Building and maintaining a security and/or emergency management network.
RATED REQUIREMENTS
Methods of assessment can be written examination, oral interview (online or in-person), role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.
- Knowledge of the Swedish government security and emergency institutions as well as law-enforcement agencies;
- Knowledge of security mitigation features and practices for ensuring security of persons, information, physical property;

Coordinates clerical and administrative processes and functions such as making travel and accommodation arrangements, scheduling meetings and appointments, and assisting with events hosted at the embassy.
Processes payments, maintains records of expenditures, receipts, disbursements and fund balances, and provides related reports.
Tracks, controls, monitors and reports on the program budget in support of initiatives and program events/projects at the Embassy.
Provides input into communication strategies, develops and posts social media content, and provides media monitoring and reporting for all services of the FPDS program on both regular and social media.

Summary of Duties
Under the general supervision of the Common Services Assistant: provides transportation, delivery and errand services to all mission programs; arranges for car maintenance; and provides basic administrative, maintenance and support services to the mission, following established mission and departmental policies.
The main intended activity of this position is driving and vehicle-related administrative tasks. However, office, hospitality, and property service support play an important role of this position.

Essential Qualifications
Education: A secondary school diploma or higher
Language: Fluency in Swedish (written and spoken). Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of recent experience (within the past 7 years) in a profession that includes regular and significant professional driving duties, with a clean driving record
Experience in vehicle maintenance, either professionally or privately
Experience in performing general, unlicensed property maintenance tasks, either professionally or privately (e.g. basic plumbing, electrical, physical work).
Certification: A valid Swedish Driver’s License
Rated Requirements
Knowledge:
Detailed knowledge of destinations (embassies, major Non-Governmental Organizations, government offices, police stations, etc.) and roads in Stockholm and surroundings areas
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, safety, and security practices
