Senior Coordinator - Child Protection in Humanitarian Action

THE OPPORTUNITY
The Senior Coordinator is expected to oversee and facilitate activities to improve quality of Save the Children’s child protection humanitarian programmes in collaboration with relevant colleagues and stakeholders within and outside Save the Children. It further includes representing Save the Children in interagency child protection fora. 50 percent of the time is specifically committed to co-leading the revision and roll-out of the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (CPMS), in close collaboration with the Terre des hommes CPMS co-lead.

TO BE SUCCESFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU'LL BRING
In order to be successful in this role you'll bring a master’s degree in Political or Social Science or equivialent expertise. Practical experience and in-depth knowledge of humanitarian contexts, as well as proven knowledge and practical use of the CPMS, is a requirement. We are expecting you to have at least 7 years of experience in the sector, including in direct humanitarian responses, as well as experience from interagency Child Protection coordination. A strong candidate has also led Child Protection coordination groups, e.g. sub-clusters. Fluency in English is a requirement, and additional language skills in Swedish, French, Spanish and/or Arabic are preferable.

Benificial qualifications are in-depth knowledge of humanitarian contexts, Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, as well as familiarity with humanitarian standards in general.

Thematic Advisor - Children on the Move

The opportunityThe Children on the Move Advisor (TA) will contribute to the thematic development and quality assurance of Save the Children Sweden´s global work on Children on the Move. The TA will provide thematic support, technical assistance and capacity building on Child Protection with a particular focus on Child migration and displacement, to colleagues, other Save the Children members and Save the Children country and regional programmes and partners. The advisor will work in close coordination and cooperation with other advisors from related thematic areas from across Save the Children as well as participate in other international coordination mechanisms and groups.The TA is expected to contribute to the overall development of the thematic area of Child Protection and Children on the Move, including developing integrated programs and ensuring mainstreaming of cross-cutting issues. Travel is part of the work.
