?Purpose
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading the design and development of mechanical systems with a strong focus on moving mechanisms and electromechanical integration. This role works closely with the electrical engineering team, optical and software team to ensure cohesive system-level solutions. The position holds ownership of product designs and assemblies throughout the full product lifecycle, including the development of new products as well as sustaining and improving the existing portfolio to ensure performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
Responsibilities
• Possess a legal right to work in Sweden (e.g., permanent residence permit, EU citizenship, or equivalent).
• Lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems, components, and assemblies from concept through production
• Perform engineering analysis (e.g., stress, thermal, vibration, tolerance) to ensure robust and compliant designs
• Create and review detailed CAD models, drawings, and specifications
• Drive design reviews, risk assessments, and failure analysis activities (DFMEA, root cause analysis)
• Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and project management teams
• Support prototype build, testing, validation, and transition to manufacturing

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in mechanical design and development
• Strong knowledge of mechanics, materials, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, or equivalent)
• Experience creating and reviewing engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Solid understanding of engineering analysis and validation methods
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical deliverables

Responsibilities:
Performs field service and routine maintenance as required by using the available systems in conjunction with the Regional Group Leader, carrying out repairs, maintenance, installation and validation of instrumentation and their accessories.
Provide onsite user training on defined product groups.
At the request of the Service Manager, performs service on behalf of PerkinElmer overseas offices, to the standard expected across Europe, and at sites of overseas customers.
Ensures that all documentation, circuit diagrams, Service Data Bulletins and manuals are of the correct revision to undertake service on specific instrument types. Maintains ancillary documentation e.g. Safety Manual, Procedures Manual to the highest standard with regular reviewing of manuals provided in accordance with the Quality Management System.
Align personal working practices with the department’s performance targets. Actively demonstrate compliance with all team targets.
Maintains personal service spares issued and inventory records to the highest standard. Ensures all anomalies are quickly and effectively reported and resolved.
Ensures that all tools and test equipment is adequate to perform service required, and that all test equipment issued is calibrated at the times specified.
Makes returns of all fully completed service documentation, Service Reports, Time Sheets, Expenses Claims, Motor Vehicle Log Sheets etc, on a weekly basis.
May be requested to perform specific and agreed tasks as defined through the Goal statements, already embedded in the Company Culture.

Basic Qualifications
Diploma or equivalent in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Science, or another suitable or compatible discipline
Minimum 3 years experience in a related Field Service role, or similar field.

Role description:
Development and design of electronic circuit boards containing digital and analog components. A typical design involves computer module carrier boards, DC-DC converters, motor drivers, AD-converters, LED drivers.
Participate in the entire process of releasing new products, maintaining the existing portfolio up-to-date, and addressing end-of-life (EOL) situations by updating instruments while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Debug, trouble shoot and repair on a PCBA level using tools such as oscilloscope, signal generator etc. Including soldering equipment both for SMD/THD components
Work closely in a small team and interact with other functions e.g. Software, Applications, and Product Management teams
Basic firmware development, with or without RTOS



Role requirements:

Job Purpose
The Safety Manager will perform functions to manage all aspects of the safety and environmental programs, including but t limited to development, implementation, compliance, training, and reporting for a OneSource Scientific Asset Management client with multiple sites in the UK & Sweden.
This role will take responsibility of the Gothenburg, Sweden site along with our operations across three sites in the UK.
Core Job Duties
Ensure that operations are executed in compliance with all local safety, health, environmental and regulatory requirements
Build capability of site resources to support implementation of EHS programs and processes
