About the Role
As a Hall Effect Thruster Expert, you will serve as one of OHB Sweden’s in?house specialists and technical point of contacts for topics related to Hall Effect Thrusters and their associated subsystems. You will work closely with propulsion engineers, system engineers, and project teams across the company to ensure high?quality propulsion solutions for our satellites.
Your work will primarily involve supplier-facing technical leadership, internal expertise, and system-level integration support, including:
Key Responsibilities
Lead the technical aspects of procurement of Hall Effect Thrusters and related subsystems.


Evaluate supplier proposals, specifications, test plans, and qualification approaches.


Perform technical reviews of documentation, verification data, acceptance criteria, and interface definitions.


Conduct internal assessments of thruster performance, lifetime considerations, and compatibility with satellite system requirements.


Support trade-offs, architecture evaluations, and propulsion system configuration choices where HETs are involved.


Participate in design reviews with external suppliers and internal engineering teams.


Provide expert guidance on operational constraints, integration considerations, and flight heritage aspects.


Support anomaly investigations and provide technical feedback on propulsion?related findings.


Contribute to internal knowledge-building, best practices, and technical standards for electric propulsion.



Your Profile
We are looking for a hands?on expert with solid experience in Hall Effect Thrusters, ideally supported by a background in spacecraft propulsion, plasma physics, or electric propulsion technology.
Required Skills & Experience
Direct experience working with Hall Effect Thrusters — development, testing, manufacturing, analysis, qualification, or procurement.


Strong understanding of plasma propulsion principles and thruster operational modes.


Familiarity with spacecraft system engineering, propulsion interfaces, and environmental requirements.


Experience interacting with suppliers, reviewing documentation, and handling technical discussions.


Ability to assess performance data, test results, and qualification evidence.

We are now looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Propulsion Equipment Development Engineer to support our projects and product development activities.
This role is focused on the development of propulsion equipment and components for OHB Sweden’s in-house developed spacecraft propulsion systems. The position suits an engineer who enjoys technical ownership and product development, and who can bridge concept development, analysis, design, manufacturing, and verification throughout the full development lifecycle.
Tasks included in this role are mainly, but not limited to:

Manage the technical aspects of the development of propulsion equipment and components from concept to qualified product.


Concept development using analytical and mathematical methods


Selection of materials and design solutions considering performance, compatibility, manufacturability, and lifetime.


Technical coordination between design, analysis, manufacturing, and verification activities.


Coordinate structural, thermal, and functional analysis support using relevant tools and methods.

The Propulsion Equipment Development Engineer will work in the Propulsion department and report to the Head of Department.
The Engineer is expected to:

Complete deliverables on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards

You will be responsible for the thermal design, modelling and analysis of sub-system or system level deliveries to national or international customers, Including model correlations, requirements verifications and sensitivity studies.


Proven experience within ESATAN is a requirement.


You will also have a leading position in the definition, procurement and testing of thermal related hardware – for instance MLI, heaters, coatings, TVAC testing and thermal verification. Which means you will be part of both the analytical and practical side of spacecraft thermal engineering!


As a result, it is desirable that you have experience from the full life-cycle of space thermal engineering starting from feasibility analysis (Phase A) through Preliminary Design (Phase B) and project implementation (Phases C/D/E).

It is desirable that the applicant has experience of comprehending and designing within the constraints of many variables. The ability to see the full picture, whilst learning and understanding the detailed constraints of a mission, the hardware, interfaces, functions, etc is key. This work is to be performed together with a larger team of other system engineers, field experts and project managers. As a result, your work is dynamic, with other people, executed and reported in a very systematic and professional way so as to allow for the results and outcomes to be digested and used by the project-at-large and the end-customer.

As part of the system engineering team, you will be responsible for contributing to and maintaining satellite system budgets, performing design trade-offs, controlling interfaces between all subsystems and providing outputs to the full engineering team.

We are looking for a team-player, learning quickly, providing technical advice to team members, as well has having the ability to work autonomously. Applicants are expected to have expertise/experience in several of the following areas:

- Experience in numerical analytical methods applied in trade-offs, preliminary sizing and bounding of performance requirements

- Experience using Python and/or MATLAB Simulink

The Project Manager is overall responsible for the execution of his/her projects in the company and towards the Customers. The Project Manager has functional manager responsibility for his/her project team (up to 10 - 25 people depending on the project and project phase) in the frame of the project activities. He/she has the full responsibility for On Quality, On Time and On Cost delivery of his/her project.

Main tasks:

- Main formal interface to the Customer for the projects under his/her responsibility

We are now looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated
AOCS Engineer
with a strong background in systems and control to work in our Attitude and Orbit Control Systems (AOCS) group.
All of our projects involve a wide range of expertise areas and require a broad and flexible skillset for all those working at OHB Sweden. You will work in small multi-disciplinary teams and will be expected to perform and document analyses, design, verification and validation within the area of AOCS throughout the complete development lifecycle of the AOCS subsystems. A large part of the work is performed using model-based design techniques based on Matlab/Simulink tools. An integral part of the work is also documentation and presentation of results to the satellite projects and customers.
The AOCS Engineer will work in the AOCS department and report to the Head of Department.
The Engineer is expected to:
- Participate in project work by development, test and reporting within AOCS
- Solve specific technical problems
- Complete project deliverables in time and budget and in accordance with the required quality
- Provide clear and coherent reporting

Required qualifications:
- University degree (MSc, PhD or equivalent) in engineering physics, electrical engineering, vehicle design or similar
- Specialization within aerospace engineering, automatic control, signal processing, mathematical systems theory, or optimization
- Fluent in English, Swedish is an advantage
- Good knowledge in Matlab/Simulink
- Knowledge in model-based design and automatic coding
- Ability to work in a precise way on multiple tasks and against tight deadlines

All of our satellite projects involve a very broad range of expertise, covering for example design, mechanical analysis, software, operations, radiation, EMC, electrical, thermal, testing, and integration.

This requires a broad and flexible skill set for all those working at OHB Sweden. With this in mind, we are looking for a skilled electrical engineer, who has exposure and familiarity to telecommunication and mechanical aspects as well.

The RF Avionics engineer is expected to be able to not only perform system level design activities (Telemetry Tracking and Control subsystem), bound by our customer’s design and interface requirements, but is also able to follow this design through all the stages of specification, procurement, functional testing and eventually delivery to the final flight program. Naturally, all of these steps require close interactions with the other experts in house covering the other areas of engineering listed above.

The work is mostly executed in a typical office environments, but the hardware is handled in our own clean rooms, electrical labs, and environmental labs. So being comfortable in a typical engineering office/project environment, whilst also being comfortable in a lab environment, is very important.

We are looking for a team-player, learning quickly, providing technical advice to team members, as well has having the ability to work autonomously. The RF avionics Engineer will work in close cooperation with system, mechanical, thermal and AIT engineers. Capability for problem solving and initiative are necessary as well as the ability to work in a pragmatic way focusing on finding the right level of quality and to deliver on time.

Tasks breakdown can be summarized roughly as

- Design and system engineering in the areas of RF, Data Handling, Signal Processing and related applications. This is referred to as Tracking, Telemetry and Command.
- Defining and designing test procedures, setups, documenting (drawings, schematics) with rather open initial definitions.
- Support ongoing projects in the engineering, including creating procedures, procuring hardware, integrating the test, executing the test and documenting the results.
- Support future programs and projects with planning and budgeting for the purpose of proposals.
- Design assembly and test of electrical ground support equipment (EGSE).
- Be able to provide clear and coherent reporting and presentations in the English language


Required qualifications:

- As a minimum, Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines
- At least 3 years of experience in a design and testing environment related to
telecommunications
- Experience in high-speed data transfer techniques design and implementation, or other highspeed digital communications
- The ability to generate, read and understand electrical schematics and datasheets, and have a good electrical understanding
- Familiarity with hardware handling and testing
- Fluent in the English language, both spoken and written
- Located in, or willingness to relocate to, Stockholm, Sweden


Added advantageous qualifications:

- Experience of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
- Experience in Software Defined Radio development and implementation (with GNU Radio or equivalent)
- Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, Simulink
- Familiarity with CCSDS space industry standards
- Comfortable with basic mechanical and electrical construction in order to build and/or assemble custom interface units or supporting mounting and brackets.
- Additional related certifications
- Experience in the Space Business and knowledge of the European Cooperation for Space Standardization (ECSS) is a merit


The Avionics and RF Engineer will work in the Spacecraft department, within the Electrical Group, and report to the Head of Department.

Travels may be required (3-5 trips per year primarily within Europe).
