OHB Sweden is a leading Swedish supplier of space systems. We develop, build, test and commission satellites and subsystems for space missions in, for example, communication, earth observation and space research for institutional and commercial customers within and outside Europe.

We are now looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Propulsion Equipment Development Engineer to support our projects and product development activities.
This role is focused on the development of propulsion equipment and components for OHB Sweden’s in-house developed spacecraft propulsion systems. The position suits an engineer who enjoys technical ownership and product development, and who can bridge concept development, analysis, design, manufacturing, and verification throughout the full development lifecycle.
Tasks included in this role are mainly, but not limited to:

Manage the technical aspects of the development of propulsion equipment and components from concept to qualified product.


Concept development using analytical and mathematical methods


Selection of materials and design solutions considering performance, compatibility, manufacturability, and lifetime.


Technical coordination between design, analysis, manufacturing, and verification activities.


Coordinate structural, thermal, and functional analysis support using relevant tools and methods.


Definition and management of equipment-level requirements and interfaces, based on higher level system specifications.


Planning, execution, and analysis of verification, qualification, and acceptance testing.


Close collaboration with manufacturing, suppliers, customers, and other engineering disciplines


Technical support to projects and system engineers as an equipment specialist.


Supporting other functions within the Propulsion department, when necessary.



The Propulsion Equipment Development Engineer will work in the Propulsion department and report to the Head of Department.
The Engineer is expected to:

Plan and organize daily work in a structured and efficient manner


Take technical ownership of assigned equipment or development tasks


Respect constraints of the project, customers, and suppliers


Complete deliverables on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards


Provide clear and coherent technical reporting


Take part in continuous improvement processes

Required qualifications

Experience with development of hardware for high-reliability applications, either within the space industry or other similar industries, is an advantage


Knowledge of propulsion systems or space systems is a strong advantage, but not a requirement


Experience with structural and thermal analysis using FEM tools


Familiarity with CFD, verification engineering, and qualification processes is an advantage


Knowledge of ECSS standards and space hardware development processes is an advantage


Fluency in English. Swedish is an advantage

Travel may be required (up to five trips per year, mostly within Europe).

OHB Sweden is a Swedish provider of space systems and develops, builds, tests and operates satellites for space missions within communications, earth observation, space research and exploration. We deliver satellites and sub-systems for low-earth-orbit, geostationary and interplanetary missions.
The C++ Software Engineer will work in the Space Software Department and report to the team lead of the department. The position is based at OHB Sweden premises in Kista, Stockholm. 
All of our projects involves a wide range of expertise, and thus requires a broad and flexible skill set for all those working at OHB Sweden. With this in mind, we are looking for a highly motivated software engineer with strong skills and documented experience in C++ Software Development, Communication Protocols, Software Development Processes and Continuous Integration.

Required qualifications:

Building a satellite requires a broad range of expertise, involving the analysis, design, manufacturing, and testing of both hardware and software. At OHB Sweden, we offer engineers an exceptional opportunity to expand their technical skills across all domains.
We are seeking a skilled Senior Thermal Engineer with space experience in the complete chain from early design iterations to final product, testing and integration of a complete satellite system.
Collaborating with external partners (customers, payload suppliers, etc.) to define and implement mechanical and thermal interfaces will be an integral part of your daily responsibilities.
Your Tasks:

You will be responsible for the thermal design, modelling and analysis of sub-system or system level deliveries to national or international customers, Including model correlations, requirements verifications and sensitivity studies.


Proven experience within ESATAN is a requirement.


You will also have a leading position in the definition, procurement and testing of thermal related hardware – for instance MLI, heaters, coatings, TVAC testing and thermal verification. Which means you will be part of both the analytical and practical side of spacecraft thermal engineering!


As a result, it is desirable that you have experience from the full life-cycle of space thermal engineering starting from feasibility analysis (Phase A) through Preliminary Design (Phase B) and project implementation (Phases C/D/E).


A few example projects you can expect to work on are complete small spacecraft missions, propulsion sub-systems to ESA science missions, and robotic mechanisms for various spacecrafts.


Having a lead role on design of thermal and mechanical components using CAD and ESATAN, focusing on conduction, radiation and mechanical analyses.


Lead technical discussions with customers and suppliers.


Supervise off-site manufacturing of parts and inspect delivered items.


Support on-site assembly of end products, such as thermal hardware.


Define and design test specifications, procedures, and setups for subsystem qualification.


Assist in planning and budgeting for future programs and projects.


Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance within the team.



Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Space Engineering, or related disciplines.


Minimum of 7 years of experience in in space thermal engineering


Proven ability to lead and inspire teams and/or groups, driving projects forward.


Experience using ESATAN/Thermica


Experience in procurement, integration and testing of space thermal hardware


Experience within ESA/NASA projects.


Good knowledge of the ECSS.


Clear and coherent reporting and presentation skills in English.

A Project Manager

The Project Manager is overall responsible for the execution of his/her projects in the company and towards the Customers. The projects can include the development, integration and delivery of a Satellite, a Propulsion Sub-system or AOCS sub-system. The position is a key function in the company with impact on many areas, including the financial standing and the reputation of the company.

The Project Manager has functional manager responsibility for his/her project team (up to 10 - 25 people depending on the project and project phase) in the frame of the project activities. He/she has the full responsibility for On Quality, On Time and On Cost delivery of his/her project.

The Project Manager is a member of the Project Office team and reports to the Head of Project Office.

Main tasks:

- Main formal interface to the Customer for the projects under his/her responsibility
- Lead the OHB Sweden project team in line with the Project requirements and our project management processes. The project team generally consists of members of the engineering team, MAIT/production team, Quality department, and members of the Project Office team.
- Control and steer projects and initiate remedial actions in case of cost overruns, technical issues or schedule slippage.
- Resource planning to secure resources in the matrix of projects/departments in collaboration with the departments managers.
- Contribute to prioritization in case of resource conflicts/overload
- Negotiate with customers regarding changes to project baselines (scope, schedule and cost)


Your work experience:

- Proven experience as Project Manager with a track record of covering technical and programmatic aspects (financial, schedule, contractual)
- Experience from complex technical development and international collaboration is preferable. Experience from the space industry is an advantage, but not a must.


Your educational background:

- Academic degree, preferable from a technical university or similar
- Strong knowledge of project management discipline and methodology
- Sound technical understanding of mechanical, thermal, electrical, electronical disciplines

We are now looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated
AOCS Engineer
with a strong background in systems and control to work in our Attitude and Orbit Control Systems (AOCS) group.
All of our projects involve a wide range of expertise areas and require a broad and flexible skillset for all those working at OHB Sweden. You will work in small multi-disciplinary teams and will be expected to perform and document analyses, design, verification and validation within the area of AOCS throughout the complete development lifecycle of the AOCS subsystems. A large part of the work is performed using model-based design techniques based on Matlab/Simulink tools. An integral part of the work is also documentation and presentation of results to the satellite projects and customers.
The AOCS Engineer will work in the AOCS department and report to the Head of Department.
The Engineer is expected to:
- Participate in project work by development, test and reporting within AOCS
- Solve specific technical problems
- Complete project deliverables in time and budget and in accordance with the required quality
