About the company:
Ferritico aims to become a global leader in digital metallic materials design. Our AI-based SaaS platform helps steel manufacturers and research institutes significantly reduce time and costs, enhance the materials design process, and optimize product performance. We are well-funded through commercial revenues and public research projects, and we have developed and patented a high-performing stainless steel alloy in collaboration with a major global steel company.

This role will be pivotal in transforming traditional material industries and establishing Ferritico as a global leader in the digitalization of materials design.
Responsibilities:

? Align the product roadmap with business goals to ensure cohesive progress and market relevance
? Foster a high-performance culture, building a strong team and promoting teamwork
? Identify and secure strategic partnerships and new business opportunities
? Oversee financial performance, investments, and business ventures, with full responsibility
? Maintain and grow relationships with stakeholders, including investors, customers, and partners
Skills and requirements:
? Strong understanding of the materials engineering domain, preferably with experience in AI, computer simulations, or SaaS platforms
? Demonstrated ability in business development, strategic planning, and operational management
? Leadership experience in any capacity, preferably with some exposure to senior roles
? Ability to drive innovation and inspire a high-performing team
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
? Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Swedish is a plus
? Experience in an international business context and with B2B sales is advantageous

Who we are
?
We are ferritico, a Swedish software company disrupting the global steel industry. Based on more than 10 years of leading KTH research we are developing a machine learning tool provided to our customers as a SaaS. The ferritico service digitalizes the processes of developing, manufacturing and implementing steel, helping our customers to significantly cut time and costs.

We aggregate large sets of steel properties and process data and apply physical-based and machine learning models enabling our customers to predict and view correlations in data when optimizing materials, products and processes. Ferritico is well funded through support from i.a. EIT and Vinnova although already generating revenues. Ferritico is used in production by one global steel company and is currently strengthening the team with a Materials Informatics Engineer as a consequence of increased development and service demand.

The Opportunity
?
This employment constitutes a unique opportunity to join the ferritico team in central Stockholm and to step up your game as an engineer within materials science where informatics, i.e. data and computational modelling is key. As a Materials Informatics Engineer you will be outlining our customer’s steel processes and identifying materials data correlations enabling process and product optimization. You will document and work creatively to develop data requirements and strategies which will be implemented by our database developers and leveraged by our machine learning software. Your work will foster the highly profitable shift towards data-driven work patterns within steel development and manufacturing and include:

Conducting strategic pre-studies where customer processes are explored focusing on materials data correlations and optimization possibilities
Create strategies and support database developers in the materials data collection process and implement quality assurance metrics
Test machine learning software prediction output and benchmark results against other simulation tools
Support Data Scientists in prediction model optimization and prediction error tracking
Attend sales meetings, identify new customer opportunities and deliver business development for our steel industry customers on a consultant basis

Requirements:

Masters, PhD, or equivalent experience in material science or similar
Exceptional communication skills. Fluent in written and spoken English
Professional experience from materials engineering, preferably from the steel industry
Happy to communicate and establish relationships with customers, outline their processes and propose machine learning solutions
Rigorous attention to detail and focus on timely high-quality deliverables

Interest in or experience from statistical modeling and machine learning
Consultancy background
Experience from materials modeling, e.g. FEM or thermodynamics-based modeling.
Experience with at least one programming language, preferably Python, and databases. Visa mindre
